Grassley blames Feinstein for delaying bill to protect Mueller
The Washington Times ^ | April 12, 2018 | Alex Swoyer

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley said Thursday Democrats are delaying a bill to protect special counsel Robert Mueller in the event that President Trump moved to fire him.

Mr. Grassley said he had wanted to put the bill, introduced this week, on the agenda Thursday, which would set it up for a vote next week. But top committee Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein objected, which Mr. Grassley said will delay getting it done.

If the RINOs/GOPe had any shred of integrity, their number one priority would be to circle the wagons around our/their POTUS!!!

GrASSley even had the audacity to sit across the table from President Trump today in the White House during a meeting regarding agriculture/farming issues. The other Iowa Senator, Joni Ernst was seated beside POTUS and just down a couple of chairs from her was Nebraska’s Never-Trumper Ben SASSe.

It’s a shame that President Trump has to subject himself to trying to work with these miserable fools in order to MAGA!!!

I remember when Grassley was in the Iowa Legislature.
Friday evenings, when the rest of the solons were out at diner or boozing in Des Moines, Chuck could be found in the house chamber, reading the bills that had been introduced for the coming week.
He was a rare species; dedicated, truthful and straightforward.

I can't figure out this latest development...

I haven’t read the wording of the proposal. But from what I’ve read of the blurbs about it, how is this not a Bill of Attainder?

Anyway, near the end we find that maybe Grassley is inserting a clause that forces the Mueller to report his findings to Congress on a regular basis. This is why DieFie won’t support it.

Who knows? Anyway, this drivel is going nowhere. Not even in the stupid senate.

It makes some sense what you say is true.

A bill to protect Mueller (if it could ever pass and overturn a Trump veto but I don't think it will get that far) is bad for the democRATS.

If Trump fires Mueller, the democRATS and establishment RINO Republicans will go after him for obstruction of justice and put his head on the block for impeachment hearings in the House, if they can swing it. They'll have a "crime" they can run with to get rid of Trump.

But if there is a law somehow passed to make it impossible for Trump to fire the Special Council, then their "fire-Mueller-bait" won't work.

So Grassley is criticizing Feinstein for delaying a bill the democRATS don't want to begin with? Is that how you see it?

He’ll be 87 years old by then, assuming he is still alive.

That’s how I see it. The Democrats don’t want Trump protected. They are counting on him losing his temper and firing Mueller. Even though he can, it wouldn’t be wise because we have seen how biased they all are when it comes to investigating Trump compared to investigating Clinton. If he fires Mueller he falls into their trap. From there they find a way to impeach him. That is their goal and so far they are frustrated because he isn’t cooperating. That’s why they keep harping on firing Mueller even though he keeps saying he won’t.

The deep state has shown most of its cards already just trying to deal with Trump. One squeaky wheel has upset their apple cart and thrown them into a complete tizzy.

To hell with firing Mueller. Mattis and his boys need to move on the enemies of our nation that are squatting in Washington, march them out to the Mall to be summarily executed as traitors. DC and the sprawling bureaucracy is rotten to the core and has effectively declared war on the citizens of the US. When they get the cesspool cleaned up, we can go back to being a Constitutional Republic again.

Probably the reason Obama and his band of commie rats degraded our military on purpose is so this would not be an option. . . oh . . . looks like Grassley should be one of the ones being marched.

I am going to hold judgement until we know more, as to what he might be thinking. Or maybe he put it out there, knowing that Feinstein or one of her Dem cohorts would put in a delay for some reason, and now it might reflect badly on Dems (if they add more stringent language or something, for example). I really don’t know the details related to this bill to protect Mueller.... but doubt Grassley is TRYING to protect Mueller, might be trying to appear to protect Mueller??

Grassley is a far greater threat to Trump’s presidency than any Democrat. Trump needs the freedom to hire and fire his own people, but Grassley is holding him hostage. He has said that if Sessions is fired Trump will never get another AG confirmed.

Iow, Grassley believes *he’s* the real POTUS. He’s as big a disgrace as Sessions—two peas in a pod.
