FBI search warrant on Cohen covered taxi medallion ownership

The FBI sought documents pertaining to Michael Cohen's ownership of taxi medallions when it raided his home and offices on Monday, according to CNN.

The request for information on the medallions came in a search warrant authorized by a U.S. District Attorney in New York.

Cohen, who has worked as an lawyer for Trump since the president's days as a New York real estate developer, reportedly owns a number of the medallions required for operation of the city's iconic yellow taxis, two sources told CNN.

The Monday raid, approved by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, allowed investigators to gather bank records, laptops and documents, some of them related to the hush payment Cohen made to an adult film star who says she had an affair with Trump over a decade ago.

The warrant approved by a judge reportedly included a long list of requests for information on the $130,000 payment in question, disbursed just days before the 2016 election, that legal experts say could have violated campaign finance laws.

One person familiar with the warrant told CNN the warrant likely inquired into some smaller investments outside the attorney's dealings with the porn star known as Stormy Daniels.

According to the Washington Post, Cohen is also being investigated for possible bank and tax fraud.

Mueller has gone nuts. He and his lynch mob will hang anyone.

This was supposed to be about Russia. Its clearly not, and Trump has ample reason to fire him.

And he has a very good argument with which to oppose the expected leftist-media propaganda storm which will come after it.

Haven’t taxi medallions been taking a beating with the rise of Uber and Lyft?

If Cohen speculated in taxi medallions, it’s no wonder he didn’t have the loose change to pay Stormy’s blackmail, and had to not tell the bank exactly what his home equity loan was intended for. One crime leads to another.

/S ... because none of these are crimes, except on the part of Stormy.

My theory is that Mueller has a big fat nothing...so his plan is to run amok until Trump is forced to fire him...and then the democrats can impeach him for interfering with the investigation (you know, the investigation that found nothing).

He is just begging to be fired - its the only way he and the democrats saves face.

My prayer and wish is that Mueller and his ilk wind up in the traps they set instead of President Trump. Do your thing karma.

If you search and harass anyone without cause enough times, you can find whatever you need to crucify them.

Somebody explain to me where the evidence of probable cause for a crime is in this search warrant because without evidence of probable cause, this warrant is flatly unconstitutional as is most everything surrounding this nonsense.

"Taxi medallions ?"

Taxis are highly regulated in most large cities, with a limited number of available "franchises." I think these are what the "medallions" refer to.

The deep state's (IE Mueller's) game is the same thing he's trying to pull with Manafort. Catch Cohen in some completely unrelated crime and then "bargain" for dirt on Trump.

Ex:

Mueller: "We'll pursue these charges regarding Taxi Medallion fraud... unless you tell us about Trump colluding with Russia.

Cohen: "I don't know anything about Russia. If Trump had any dealings he didn't tell me anything about them."

Mueller: "Are you sure? This Tax Medallion deal could bankrupt your family and put you away for the rest of your life! Think hard..."

Cohen: "The rest of my life?!? Uhh, now that I think about it Trump did once...uhhh...mention something about...uhh...Russia sabotaging Hillary."

Mueller: "Great! Sign this affidavit!"

They already know Cohen’s secrets...because they have been illegally wiretapping him and dozens of others for 2 years now
