Totally illegal in California, new anti discrimination laws passed this spring.
Probably a dump anyway. Fit for a democrat.
She's an idiot. You can sell your house to anyone you want, or not sell to anyone you don't want. But you don't voice it out loud! Get several offers, and choose who you want. Period.
I lived in another town a few decades ago. My white neighbor on one side was a racist trailer-trash bigot. He and his family were nothing but trouble, and caused me some grief. He got upset when a black family moved in next to me on the other side, and I helped them with various things including fixing their car. Said I had no business helping those kind of people. Then a Samoan family moved in on the other side of him, and he was complaining left and right. When we put our house up for sale, one offer was from another Samoan family. Although not the best offer, my wife and I looked at each other, nodded yes, and accepted the Samoan offer. Our bad neighbor got what he deserved, especially when the Samoans cooked pigs in the back yard. We now live in a better neighborhood with good neighbors all flying the American flag; mostly Trump supporters. Trump supporters tend to be good people.
We had sort of a similar experience with Hispanics that were probably illegals. One of our nieces moved to beautiful Sonoma, CA and bought a home in foreclosure for about $350,000. there. We got a panic call from her (we live about 50 miles away) that her household stuff was due to arrive and she found the place to be a shambles. Evidently, there were as many as five “Mexican” families living in this place when the RE market crashed in 2007 and the “owners,” being under water just left and quit paying the mortgage.
They had divided the living room ( cathedral beam ceiling) in half, and put in an exterior window in the back half. But they didn’t bother to repair the siding and the drywall, so there was a big gap to the outdoors all the way around the window. They had similarly “demised” the dining room The walls were so filthy I had to just airless spray them with primer because they could not be washed clean. The carpeting had to be remove because it was black! The furnace didn’t work, all the kitchen appliances were in disrepair, virtually every plug outlet and light switch were broken, and the swimming pool looked like someone was using it for a toilet!
So maybe we should help this lady out and find her a good batch of Mexicans to buy her home. But she had better get cash out, because this is what the end result could well be.
“Lawsuit..”
Based on what?
How would you prove damages?
Lawsuit...
Based on what?
Discrimination. It’s likely in the CA BOR standard sales form.
Why would anyone want to live in California?
Smart people are leaving by the 10’s of thousands.
All for good reasons.
“I think that she could, and should, be charged with discrimination if she follows through with that promise.”
Make the highest offer and if they reject your offer, you may have a case, or you will be the proud owner of a new house after paying over market value and making a liberal Democrat very rich.
Let Diamond and Silk be an interested party in the house. Set up a showing and bring all of our Conservative media and see what happens.
Make her an offer of $100,000.00 over market value and tell her that you support Trump.
Maybe she will accept your offer.
Trump supporters wont buy a seat on a sinking ship. The rest are trying to get off the sinking ship.Enjoy lady.
The realtor seems like they probably are in violation of their ethics and license, and since they listed the property with this condition, they should lose their license.
I wouldn’t want to buy a house from someone who felt like she did, because I would be concerned about her sabotaging it before closing in ways that might not be detectable short term, but could cost a lot in repairs once I was the new owner.
Did she not check it out before purchasing it?
I seriously doubt she would have bought it in that condition.
considering it is California, she would have to pay me at least high 8-figures to take the house.
I’d wear a Hillary shirt when making an offer, then I’d wear a MAGA shirt at the closing.
Perhaps you missed the irony of the situation since the real estate agent is named Weintraub, usually a very Jewish name.
She should be the last one to promote any sales discrimination policy since we Jews were once secretly “banned” from buying houses in Gentile neighborhoods.
When my father bought our second house in the 1950’s, he was moving us to an area that once had “housing covenants” against Jews and blacks. I don’t know why because our Christian neighbors were as nice as they could be, ranging from the Greek Orthodox families on the 4 corners to the Catholics who went to Our Lady or Lourdes down the block.
We never experienced any anti-Semitism at all and I loved our blocks and our neighbors. Couldn’t ask for finer people.
Seems like the old “anti-Semitism” and “anti-Blacks” discrimination that the Democrats claimed to have fought so hard against (and many did), has now been replaced by a new Democrat policy of discrimination against Republicans, Conservatives, Jewish conservatives, Christian conservatives, black conservatives, Hispanic conservatives, and sane people.
The old Democrat Party of the 1950’s is dead. Long Live the New Fascist Party. Seig Heil mine Komerades. Your swastikas are in the mail.
Well, if a Trump backer really wanted to buy real estate in Sacra-demento (couldn’t imagine why, but to each his own), my recommendation is to not divulge that fact, then show up at closing wearing your MAGA hat.
Yep, I refused to sell a home to a lawyer as well. The husband/wife were both lawyers and submitted their offer by a custom contract they created. That in itself was not a deal killer to me but the contents were. Indemnifications and certifications out the wazoo, loaded with legal booby traps. Jerks.
My real estate agent was a disappointment as we had previously had a very positive relationship through other transactions. The $$$ offered were close enough that I normally would have made a counter offer and as such he claimed I was ethically bound to do so. I refused to counter offer and instructed no further communications would be accepted from these potential buyers.
