Great! Been saying that since 9/11/2001. Maybe 9/12/2001.

I also aid we needed armed guards at our churches.

Where I was going at that time and even now, there are several. At least a dozen. Off-duty sheriff and police.

Now he’s just “having discussion”? Remember in the campaign when he said that Obama was wrong to say ahead of time what he was going to do? If he’s “having discussions” I seriously hope the troops are already on their way to the border!

The leader of the invaders is already accusing Pres. Trump of violence against them - all they gotta do is stay away from the border.

BTW, where’s the media reporting that the groups that ran the border the other day - test run?) KILLED a border guard and injured another.

Crickets...

I’d like to see them include tanker fire trucks with power hoses....

What we need next is for Trump and Mattis to addres the nation and (1) spell out the threat to idiots in the media and public that doesn't appreciate it, (2) spell out the instructions, and (3) for Mattis to layout initial steps to secure the border. Leave no room for 2nd guessers, leave no room for half-measures.

But, alas, I suspect this will instead be half-assed, partial measure for the cameras, stopped by the courts before it happens or can accomplish anything. I hope not, but my expectations are low.

Yes, agreed, talk is cheap. What is the action? Concrete action.

Good point. Is this a proposal to use the military or actually doing so? Everyone may be getting excited over a proposal, political posturing and wishful thinking instead of real action. As someone wrote in earlier threat, will believe it once the troops arrive.

The church I attend doesn’t have any armed guards. It does have one or more concealed carriers.

Article II, Section 1 “The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”

Article II, Section 2 “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States;”

The United States Army serves as the land-based branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Section 3062 of Title 10, U.S. Code defines the purpose of the army as: Preserving the peace and security and providing for the defense of the United States, the Commonwealths and possessions and any areas occupied by the United States.

Best to read the article here rather then just react to the headline.

Making his remarks during a lunch meeting at the White House with the presidents of Baltic nations, as Gen. James Mattis sat beside him at the table, Trump said, “I’ve been speaking with Gen. Mattis. We’re going to be doing things militarily,” adding, “Until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.”

PEW REPORT The US is the most important source of remittances to Latin America, accounting for 3/4's of last year's $52.9 billion total. -- wire transfers of US tax dollars accounted for the highest percentage of GDP in El Salvador (16.5%), Honduras (15.7%) and Guatemala 10%).-- The US is No. 1 nation from which illegals' wire transfers originate, sending $123.3 billion abroad in 2012.

INCONVENIENT AMNESTY FACTOIDS low-wage illegals "barely eeking out an existence" on sub-minimum wages, lawn-mowing and hamburger flipping, wire transfer zillions back to their decrepit homelands.

<><> A latino woman residing in California, who spoke not a word of English, had a $100,000 nest egg and lived in a paid-up $100,000 home. She was on TV b/c she lost the nest egg to a father/son con game. The conmen were also latinos who got filthy rich preying on non-English speaking latinos, supposedly in low-paying jobs, who had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest.

<><> The one million Dominican Republic citizens currently living illegally in the US send home about a billion US dollars annually---which the corrupt do-nothing DR govt considers to a major source of state revenue. A steady exodus leaves the DR for US shores (lured by the endless US gravy train).

<><> US newspapers report Dominican Republic illegals get EBT cards then ship the food to the D/R where their relatives sell the food on the streets.

<><> A US post office near the Mexican border was used by illegals to send US gravy train money back home. It was so busy, the US govt had to add-on several trailers to handle the business.

======================================

Obama, Schumer and the rest of the Dummycrat amnesty crowd have done everything to suck up for votes except fellate a latino on the Capitol steps.

-===============================================

Republican Sen Charles Grassley tried to protect Americans w/ this amendment to the amnesty bill: "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more. This amendment will simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

SEN SCHUMER WENT PROSTRATE, GOT OUT THE LIP BALM, AND PUCKERED UP: Dismissing Sen Grassley's proposal, Sen Schumer (Dimwit-NY) said: "When people are living in undocumented status, there are times, I suppose, when they've made up identities, made up Social Security numbers. How are they going to remember all that? (The) purpose of this bill is to bring people out of the shadows. We all know when they lived in the shadows, they had to forge documents, forge Social Security numbers, et cetera. I just don't see how, when you've lived here 10 years, and you've had many different identities, many different numbers, you're going to remember them all," said Schumer.

=============================================

A PROTECTION RACKET EMBEDDED IN US LAW Would you believe Obama's amnesty bill actually protects corrupt Latino Public Officials from US laws and from prosecution.......only latino pols, mind you.

Vote-crazed Dems allow amnesty to absolve elected/appointed latinos holding US public office from prosecution for wrongdoing---for crimes like government fraud, graft, bribery, selling votes for cash....(the usual politician crimes).

BTW< There really is a Ntl Assoc of Latino Elected and Appt Officials (apparently organized for govt fraud, shielded from the consequences).
