Dead wrong. US Military was used to guard the border by Bush 2.
They can be used in support of legal authorizes like DEA, Coast Guard, Border Patrol etc. What they cannot do is directly assume police powers inside the USA.

Exactly. If F-16s are used to defend US airspace (i.e. inside the US border), ground troops are likewise able to be used to secure US landspace.

Dead wrong. US Military was used to guard the border by Bush 2. IIRC, they couldn't actually DO anything like detain any illegals, all they could do was watch and report where they were crossing the border.
