Bingo. What "right now" means is "this close to an election". The progressives have tried impeachment for fifteen months and can't get any traction, so the proggie wing of the DNC and their high-rolling donors have apparently decided to ride the gun control issue into the mid-terms. These, however, are mostly from already safe states, as are the media who are pounding the drum so furiously. It's another case of just how out of touch they are with the electorate outside the echo chamber.
