People are stupid. If you have any doubts, search on “pedestrian crashes” on YouTube. Most videos are from Russia, but you’ll be left with the impression that everyone there is blind...both drivers and the pedestrians. Pedestrians don’t look before crossing the road; drivers don’t slow down.

LOL - Did you watch the video? “hit and run”? It was more like “nudge at 1 mph and then continue on the way VERY SLOWLY”.
The “1 mph nudge” was quickly followed by (no doubt preplanned) hysterical screams of “oh, my God, oh my God” by the mob. This was undoubtably a planned provocation and was handled well by authorities.
