A group of students at a Central Florida high school walked out of class Friday as part of a protest in support of the Second Amendment.
Some of the students who participated in the walkout at Rockledge High School told WFTV that when the movement to honor the victims and survivors of the shooting in Parkland became political, they felt silenced.
“I’m pro-Second Amendment,” Rockledge junior and protest organizer Anna Delaney told the station. "I wouldn’t mind deeper background checks, of course, but the Second Amendment will not be infringed upon.”

“We were built on certain rights and that was one of the original rights, that we should have the right to bear arms,” sophomore Chloe Deaton told the group. She helped Delaney organize the walkout.

I’ll go ahead and predict that this turns into a confrontational situation before the school year ends in the summer.
At some point, some wise-ass kid will figure out the whole template required for walk-out protests, and start to organize save-the-Leprechauns, or save-the-Bigfoot walk-outs, and the school system will have to finally say ‘enough’. You only have X-number of days per year for education and this walk-out adventure (if you did it two or three times a week) will make a mess.

That actually sounds like a great idea to end this nonsense. At some point,the schools will have to ban all walkouts or be sued for discrimination. Fight fire with fire.

Its Cocoa area. People know the names Viera/Suntree more now than Rockledge and Viera/Suntree areas didnt exist 20 so years ago.
