Matthew McConaughey Warns Texans of Gun ‘Epidemic’

According to Matthew McConaughey, assault weapons are not “alright, alright, alright.” But banning them is.

The 48-year-old actor spoke at the Austin, Texas March for Our Lives, stating that he was there because he’s an American citizen, a proud Texan, a March for Our Lives believer, and, most importantly, because “I’m a father and I’m a husband.” Though he claimed that he wasn’t advocating for gun control, he asked that Second-Amendment supporters “take one for the team.”

McConaughey, a famous face at the gun-control rally, announced that he didn’t attend for the sake of subverting the Second Amendment, but that he wanted America to acknowledge that it is in the middle of an “epidemic.”

“Now like many of you in the South, and many of us here in Austin, Texas, and all around our great state, we grew up hunting,” he said. “But I want to be clear that today’s march is not about taking away the rights of law-abiding American citizens to buy own and bear arms.”

To the surprise of no one (especially conservative gun owners), McConaughey turned around, adding that, “At the same time, let’s admit that we have an epidemic in our country right now that we need to fix.”

He is right...we are in an epidemic that is assaulting the basic rights of Americans.

He’s from Austin. Like most everyone there, they aren’t really Texans :)

Matt, you're not paying attention.

That's exactly what it's about.

Well McConaughey, you obviously don’t care a rat’s behind about your family and their safety, or you would own a firearm or two. And, by the way, guns are not a disease.

The gun-grabbers pull this good cop/bad cop routine all the time. We're not fooled.

He and hollywood should first take one for the team, by ending their first amendment rights and shut up, show us how it is done.

Another unwatchable actor.

I was mistakenly of the belief he was okay, certainly as compared to his Hollywood compatriots.

Matt’s bright enough to get the deep state/false flags: he’s played swampies in enough of films about them.

Oh well, one less star’s movies to watch.

The talk in entertainment circles is that he’s a pig. Literally stinks due to his bathing habits.

He doesn’t have to worry about safety. His armed bodyguards take care of that.
