EPA's lack of transparency is breeding ground for junk science
Just Facts ^ | 03/29/2018 | James D. Agresti

In a recent New York Times op-ed, two former EPA officials criticize a Trump administration plan that would require the EPA to reveal the details of studies used to craft environmental regulations. In this piece, Obama’s EPA director Gina McCarthy and assistant director Janet McCabe, claim that:

Current EPA director Scott Pruitt and “some conservative members of Congress are setting up a nonexistent problem in order to prevent the EPA from using the best available science.” EPA’s studies “adhere to all professional standards and meet every expectation of the scientific community in terms of peer review and scientific integrity.” the process of “peer review ensures that the analytic methodologies underlying studies funded by the agency are sound.”

A broad array of scientific facts and literature proves all of those claims to be false. This has important ramifications, for as explained in book Molecular Biology and Biotechnology: A Guide for Teachers, “there are risks in misperceiving” environmental risks, because “the experiences or products you avoid because of faulty assumptions and misinformation affect the quality of your life and the lives of those around you.”

Non-existent problem?

EPA partisan hacks have already been exposed using private email accounts to harass corporations and target them.

FAKE “science” frauds

If EPA’s studies “adhere to all professional standards and meet every expectation of the scientific community...” then former EPA director McCarthy should have no problem with EPA releasing details of those studies.

” the process of “peer review ensures that the analytic methodologies underlying studies funded by the agency are sound.” “

Peer review itself is a racket. A quick search reveals:

The EPA should be forced to live alongside the Animas river until it runs clear again.

“I thought Pruitt was going to hose all this crap out of the EPA?”

Well, he has given some 1,500 people pink slips, and cancelled or shutdown any number of “programs.” I think the fact that these two cretins are complaining is a testament to what he’s already done.

EPA's lack of transparency is breeding ground for junk science.

Yes. For about the last 40 years. Glad you finally noticed.

The EPA is a club used to extort businesses and seize assets.
That is all it ever was.

EPA’s studies “adhere to all professional standards and meet every expectation of the scientific community in terms of peer review and scientific integrity.”

If EPA’s studies “adhere to all professional standards and meet every expectation of the scientific community...”

Correct, real science is open to peers. The reason is so peers can repeat and validate the original science and thus confirm its validity. If they will not publish the raw data they are not scientists but liars.

It has been long known that in environmentalist circles, "peer review" has been replaced with "pal review." These phonies publish each other's nonsense and call it "science."

Same with TV news, interviewing each other all the time.

I thought Pruitt was going to hose all this crap out of the EPA?.

Well, that's the point of the article.

Pruitt needs to figure out what which programs and resources funding junk science before he tosses out the baby with the bathwater.

He's made a good start IMHO..

The EPA is a massive federal agency.

Lots of teats being suckled and attached to the fat EPA sow...

The article confirms what we’ve known for years. It isn’t just the EPA, the Left has corrupted much of the rest of science.

Dirty Politicians.
Dirty Judges.
Dirty Lawyers.
Dirty Cops.
Dirty Scientists.

America 2018.
