The brother of Seth Rich, a Jewish Democratic National Committee staffer killed near his Washington, D.C., home in 2016, has filed a lawsuit against conservative media outlets and individuals.
The lawsuit filed Tuesday by Aaron Rich in US District Court in the District of Columbia alleges that those named in the lawsuit caused harm to his reputation and emotional distress for suggesting he played a role in the alleged theft of DNC emails dumped by WikiLeaks after his brothers death, CNN reported.
The media outlets and individuals named in the lawsuit are wealthy Texas businessman Ed Butowsky; internet activist Matt Couch; America First Media, Couchs media company; and The Washington Times, a conservative newspaper. They are accused, according to CNN, citing the lawsuit of reckless disregard for the truth.
Seth Rich, 27, a Nebraska native, was shot dead while walking home before dawn on July 10, 2016. Police have speculated that he was the victim of a robbery gone awry. Richs body was found about a block from his home with his wallet, watch and cellphone still in his possession. His murder remains unsolved.
His death sparked several conspiracy theories.
Several days after the death, WikiLeaks dumped a collection of DNC emails that US intelligence officers now say was related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. WikiLeaks offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of Richs killer.
Aaron Richs lawsuit alleges that the people and media companies named pushed a conspiracy theory suggesting that he used his background as a defense contractor with technical expertise to suggest he worked with his brother to leak the DNC documents to WikiLeaks, received money for doing so, and then worked to cover it up.
Earlier this month, the parents of Seth Rich filed a federal lawsuit against Fox ...

This makes about as much sense as blaming the NRA for the Parkland shooting.
The reports were based on more evidence than the Trump dossier.
First amendment on full attack here - imagine what theyd do without the 2nd amendment.
The snowflake pisses on his brother’s grave....
You can’t slander the dead. You can say whatever you want about them.
And what does his being Jewish have to do with anything?
Merely honoring the code of silence, or as it’s called in Italian, Omerta.
Didn’t know Seth Rich was Jewish, hum....
Was Seth Rich perhaps Moussad? Working for Bibi? Killed for aiding Trump or hurting HRC campaign efforts?
It’s from Arutz Sheva, addressed to A7’s readership. He’s saying he was slandered, because the theory implicates him as helping his brother leak the e-mails.
He’s a money-grubbing jackass - but if it helps keep the mysterious murder of Seth Rich in the public eye, that’s fine.
I believe it was Arkancide.
So what tort is the brother alleging?
This is series. Get Mueller on the case. If Trump was colluding with the International Jewish Conspiracy, that’s an impeachable offense. Look. One of them even let the cat out of the bag:

I don’t recall any Democrat Congressmen/women, Democrat appointed officials, or the DNC, actively speaking out, demanding that his murder be solved.
Libel or slander, against both of which truth is an absolute defense that would require discovery to rebut or establish;-}
Not understanding what Seths religion has to do with this, or why it is in the title. They would never put Muslim as anyones religion in an article heading.
I thought one could not be held libel for defaming the dead? Nor could any relative or descendant sue on the deceased behalf.
I think Donna Brazile has suggested that his death could have been a hit.
Discovery is going to be VERY interesting !
That he was somehow involved with the DNC hack.
Well, with the right attorneys, discovery could get interesting. Aaron Rich would join his brother before it actually got anywhere, though. I’d say he hasn’t thought this thing through very well.
