Yes, I wonder how many of these lost were placed there by women deferring childbearing to later years.
We did in vitro. It was expensive. I will never own a boat or a cabin in the woods because of it.
But I got a baby, and that’s all that matters. And as a bonus, The treatment plumped up my wife’s eggs and 15 months later we got a surprise baby out of the deal, too, for free!
And yet there are folks on FR who consider this an affront to God’s Law.
Outstanding! Congratulations to you and your family!
Some parallels here. We also did in vitro, multiple times, conceiving and later having to deal with losses. On one occasion a reaction to the hormones put her in the hospital for a week. We would later learn that an overactive thyroid and lupus were issues to work around.
We went ahead with one more IVF that insurance would help cover. We also assumed we would be adopting and put our house up for sale to come up with cash for adoption. Very shortly after getting an offer on our home - we were pregnant.
Three years later without IVF, and certainly not planned as I was out of work at the time... my daughter was conceived.
I don’t doubt for a moment that God has a plan, and why the path for my wife and I was difficult isn’t for me to question. What I do have is blessings. Heading to the dinner table right now to be with a my wife of 19 years, 14 year old son and daughter that just turned 11.
