Find out what @Facebook thinks you are politically:
They had me down as "very conservative" which is right on the money and downright creepy because I don't post about politics on Facebook.

If I’m looking for something on Amazon, it shows up for months on Drudge.
They think I’m a “moderate”. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
For a year and a half I hit the dont show me posts like this next to every single political post popping up from my FB friends. After awhile, they stopped showing them.
LOL - you fool. By clicking on the “don’t show me” you are actually providing information.
They actually put up some ads just to get such a reaction, it helps define you. They probably stopped since they know your views.
Bfl
The ONLY reason I signed up for Facebook is to promote conservative political ideas.
I “share” conservative and anti-socialist articles and stories all day long.
Profiling. Thought that was a no-no.
Why would a person named “Protect-Our-freedom” even have a Facebook account? I have never used social media, and yet I have never felt that my life is less fulfilling than those who do. How could that be?
I have FB account but have never posted a single word. They have nothing listed for me.
I might try it if I gave a rat’s ass.
Facebook - what’s that?
Yes, you can delete what you see, but Facebook already as you assigned to certain positions in order to sell targeted advertising.
Excellent point! Hadn’t thought about it in that context.
It’s ok for Zuckerberg to profile, but it is a requirement to NEVER do it at airports. Pulling little 80 year old Blue-haired Lutheran ladies out of the TSA security line for a complete body search is the smart way to prevent terror attacks (liberal mind at work).
The only thing constant about liberals is their inconstancy and inconsistency.
Im very conservative
They probably wanted to say arch conservative, but that may have seemed insulting.
When you "delete" your data, it is not really "deleted", but "marked" (by maybe putting an X in a table column) in such a way to tell the facebook program to "ignore" it so it doesn't show up on any pages any more.
In other words, the "deleted" data is still there. Even though it no longer displays on pages, it is accessible to facebook programmers to use in any way that they so choose.
I signed up years ago and never used it. Then, this spring, I discovered all the interest groups there. It’s a great learning and educational tool — the best I’ve found on the web. I reveal almost nothing about me and only have a small handful of “friends,” all immediate family members. Sometimes you have to just hold your nose.
I take your point, though. In the big picture, IMO, FB is not the greatest threat to our freedom we face, not by a long shot.
That I’m very conservative. They got that right.
“They had me down as “very conservative” which is right on the money and downright creepy because I don’t post about politics on Facebook.”
They get your browsing data from Google, which means they know every time and how often you hit upon FreeRepublic.
I purchase Facebook advertising for clients and below is just a very small sample of how Deep Facebook lets you dig to target potential customers.
The categories just go on and on.
They track you across your devices and see you whenever you visit any site that has a facebook logo on it anywhere.... they know everything you type into your phone...don’t be naive and think facebook is off when you log out.
Think Hadoop, not tables.
“Fool”? I can now get through my FB posts in 2 minutes instead of wading through CRAP for a half hour (wasting time and losing all utility for what I am on FB for).
You enjoy doing that? Remind me again - who’s the fool?
PS - You MAROON (said lovingly) - I click on ‘don’t show me posts like this’ on ALL political posts (you might have hallucinated away that line when reading my initial post). ALL. A.L.L. (That means pro and anti-Trump.) So what does that tell FB?
Right. That I don’t want to see politics on FB. So they keep it away from my door. Sounds like a WINNING strategy for maximizing the utility of FB to me ...
