Erdogan Has Released the Genealogy of Thousands of Turks – But What Is His Motive?
The Armenian Mirror-Spectator ^ | March 1, 2018 | Robert Fisk

Only in Turkey is the identity of a citizen a matter of national security. That’s why the population registry in Ankara was until now a closed book, its details a state secret. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s definition of “Turkishness” was “anyone who is attached to the Turkish state as a citizen”. Turks came from a clear ethnic identity, untainted by racial minorities or doubtful lineage. That’s one reason why the Nazis lavished praise on Ataturk’s republic, their newspapers mourning his death in black-bordered front pages.

After all, as Hitler was to ask in several newspaper interviews – and to his generals before he invaded Poland – who now remembers the Armenians? Ataturk had supposedly inherited an Armenian-free Turkey, just as Hitler intended to present his followers with a Jew-free Europe. The Armenian genocide of 1915 – denied by the Turkish government today – destroyed a million and a half Christian Ottoman citizens in the first industrial holocaust of the 20th century. Almost the entire Armenian community had been liquidated. Or had it?

For the stunned reaction of Turks to the sudden and unexpected opening of population registers on an online genealogy database three weeks ago was so immediate and so vast that the system crashed within hours. Rather a lot of Turks, it turned out, were actually Armenians – or part-Armenians – or even partly Greek or Jewish. And across the mountains of eastern Anatolia – and around the cities of Istanbul, Izmir, Erzurum, Van and Gaziantep and along the haunted death convoy routes to Syria, ancient ghosts climbed out of century-old graves to reassert their Armenian presence in Turkish history. For the registry proved that many of them – through their families – were still alive.

After the release of the records.

Up to four million Turkish citizens were reported to have sought access to their family tree within 48 hours – which is why the system crashed –

Should we mistrust Erdogan's motives? Yes.

And the following collaborates one of the families affected in more detail:

With this we are reminded of what happened to the Armenian Christians in the town of Cermik Hamambasi, in 1915. When a large amount of Armenians were brought to this town after being deported, a mob of local inhabitants surrounded them, looking for healthy children to take into their own families. A gendarme, mounted on his horse, arrived and wanted Heranus, a very young Armenian girl, while another man from a neighboring village wanted her brother Horen. Their mother resisted their demands, crying out: “No one can take them from me. I’ll never give them up”. But Heranus’s maternal grandmother tried to convince her to give up the children, saying: “the children are dying one by one. No one’s going to come out of this march alive. If you give these men your children, you’ll save their lives.” While they were arguing over this, the men came and simply seized the children.

The gendarme seized Heranus, and the other man took Horen her brother. Heranus’ mother held onto her daughter, but her grip was not strong enough. She let go and her daughter was taken from the man on horseback. Heranus was taken to an orchard where there were eight other Armenian girls, all snatched from the Turkish death march. The policeman took Heranus to his home where she was very well treated. The policeman and his wife were childless and wanted a daughter, so they adopted Heranus and gave her a Turkish name: Seher. Heranus’ mother actually survived the death march to Aleppo where she would live for the rest of her life. (See Rogan, The Fall of the Ottomans, pp. 180-181) Although her daughter was taken in and was well taken care of, the story is a reflection of how the genocide orchestrated by the Ottoman Empire led to a system of the Turkification of the Armenian population.

Turks- the modern day Nazis. He released the geneologies in preparation to marshal the Turk population against everyone else. He also knows the Kurds are 1/5 of the population and will not go quietly. DJT is going to have to set the conditions to kick them out of NATO, re-locate Incirlik, and arm the Kurds to the teeth.

Not a fan of his imposition of an Islamic state on the relatively secular (until recently) Turkey.

That being said, he did clean house after the coup attempt against him in a way that should be emulated here by Trump.

Based on the treasonous actions and coup by the FBI, CIA and other intelligence agencies that have been uncovered, Trump is well within his rights to declare a State of Emergency, fire the Special Prosecutor and go all Erdogan on the domestic enemy and the press.

The type of PURGE Trump needs to initiate is described below:

“The 2016–17 purges in Turkey are an ongoing series of purges by the government of Turkey enabled by a state of emergency in reaction to the 15 July failed coup d’état.

After the immediate arrest of military personnel accused of making the coup attempt, arrests were expanded to include further elements of the Turkish military service, as well as various civil servants and private businesses.

This is what draining the swamp looks like:

Erdogan has arrested almost 50,000 people since the coup against him was uncovered.

He dismissed 2,745 judges THE NEXT DAY.
10,732 Police Officers-ARRESTED
10,012 Military (including 178 generals)-ARRESTED
81,494 Federal Apparatchiks-FIRED
42,767 people in the Ministry of Education including 21,738 suspended government workers and 21,029 public staff education members
8,777 Ministry of Interior personnel
2,745 judges and prosecutors have been listed for detention
3,000 soldiers — including 87 generals
1,577 university deans have been asked to resign
1,389 military personnel from the Turkish Armed Forces
3,672 officials removed in the Presidency of Religious Affairs
673 staff members at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Stockbreeding
599 officials from the Family and Social Policies Ministry
560 Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology personnel
529 Ministry of Transportation officials
500 officials at the Ministry of Finance
300 Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources staff
300 TRT employees
257 officials removed from duty in the Prime Minister’s Office
265 Ministry of Youth and Sports workers
262 military judges and prosecutors
221 officials Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs
211 Turkish Airlines contracts have been terminated
184 Ministry of Customs and Commerce officials
180 Ministry of Labor and Social Security personnel
167 staff members at the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation
110 Ministry of Culture and Tourism employees
100 Turkish intelligence service personnel
86 people removed at the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency
86 staff dismissed at Ministry of Foreign Affairs including removal of Central Ambassadors Gurcan Balik and Tuncay Babali
82 Development Ministry workers
51 people at the Istanbul Stock Exchange while 36 have been terminated at the Capital Market Council
36 Energy Market Regulatory employees
29 Radio and Television Supreme Council workers
22 employees at the Housing Development Administration of Turkey
21 Turkish Statistical Institute workers
15 Ministry of Economy staff members
2 general directors, 1 deputy director general, and 5 department heads at Treasury

2,708 reporters-FIRED
179 Media Outlets-SHUT DOWN

Even after all of the crimes the Clintons committed, the impeachment, the disbarment, the mass murder in Serbia, the influence peddling and bribery at the Clinton Foundation, etc., they won a majority of the votes last election day.

The KLINTOONS would be BACK in the WH and in CHARGE of this corrupt banana republic, only one man could stop them, a man named Trump.

Obama and his communist mafia committed treason at the highest levels, actively working to dismantle the US military and give our enemies nuclear weapons.

The Obama Clinton crime families are still obstructing justice with the full weight of the executive branch agencies and media supporting them.

This fantasy that the criminals in government will be taken down from within using the legal system is childish and embarrassingly naive.

History clearly shows that only a military supported purge which includes mass arrests, imprisonments, seizing of assets, and executions will put a dent in these still currently untouchable bastards.

I sincerely think Trump doesn’t have the stones to take the next step.

Time is wasting away, less that 250 days until the GOP loses the House, and then Trump is impeached.

THAT is what “Draining the Swamp” looks like.”

All I see is all talk and no action.

Evidently the author does not know. And I certainly am hard pressed to see why. But I also know how truly Evil Erdogan is.

So it cannot be good.

Some people seem to think Hitler arose in a vacuum. He really did nothing new. He just combined a number of previous atrocities into one awful bundle.

This is interesting, but it only goes back to 1900, i.e., it allows you to trace the development starting with the year 1900 ethnic classifications.

I'd like to know the genetic profile over the millenia. I've often wondered how the Anatolian population changed throughout history, and what it ended up as today, as the place was successively overrun by different invaders, pre-Hittite, Hittite, Lydian, Celts, Greeks, Romans, many more, and then the Turkish conquest in the Middle Ages.

Did the underlying population genetics remain more or less the same over the millenia, with only the culture being changed by a relatively thin layer of successive invaders, or were there really major changes in the population genetics?

Studies like that have been done for the British Isles.

No, it was not done with a gentle nudge. It was done by Massacre and Genocide, before the word Genocide existed.

So, yes all those genetic elements exist in Turkey, but not in all groups. Some of these were know from the beginning of Turkey in 1915, but now talked about because of Islamification. But is was always present if you presented a problem for the state, they would threaten or use the records to ruin your life.

Prior to 1915 the Ottoman rulers did the same thing on a whim. But from the beginning neither the Ottoman rulers or the Turks ever admitted a single Massacre.

So, here we are again. Certainly it is in Efrin (Afrin) Syria.
