President Trump said Thursday that he wants to sit for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, which is investigating Russian election meddling and possible collusion with his campaign.
“Yes. I would like to. I would like to,” he said in response to a reporter’s question during a White House event announcing tariffs on China.
Team Trump has ping-ponged about whether the president would agree to an interview.
The president in the past has said he would like to, but has also called for Mueller’s probe to be shut down, as has his ex-lawyer John Dowd, who quit on Thursday.

Right on. Fire the leadership of DOJ as well. I have had it with those here at FR who keep saying Trump is playing 3D chess. BS! If he doesn’t veto the latest spending bill it just proves that he is not the man I voted for. I’ll get back onboard if he vetoes the spending plan and fires swamp creatures. One year is long enough!
There are those who spend their time learning skills that allow them to create, and contribute to the world in that way. Then there are those who spend their time learning how to lie, scheme, cheat, and manipulate their way through life. Politicians generally fall into the latter category, and it would appear that includes Mueller.
Well, that was the essence of #13. The trick is to get Mueller to agree to attend a WH meeting especially if it is televised; Mueller knows how much he has at risk
I argued some time ago that Trump should only agree to trade questions with Mueller in a televised meeting. That meeting did not occur most likely because Mueller smelled a trap.
Mueller may now only agree to any meeting if he can bring his attorney who would then advise him to not respond to probing questions; "that question may compromise our investigation".
Even prior to that the Left and its MSM would express outrage that a President under investigation wished to interrogate the SP.
I hear that the toilets there a bit antiquated, though.
Do not forget that Trump ate the entire Republican and Democratic party apparatus for breakfast including all their henchmen. He can handle Mueller as well
I hope that in starting the meeting Trump will state as the President of the USA he gets to go first. Then have Trump remind Mueller that his is an employee of the DOJ and has certain ethical responsibilities he must live up to or be subject to disciplinary action. Then have Trump start reading all the things that Mueller has done wrong according to the DOJ Inspector General’s report.
Then insist that Mueller respond on the record to those charges, before the President will answer any of Mueller's questions.
I want to see “the trap” sprung on Mueller!
Trump’s the POTUS. He should just say, “Mueller, get the H-— in here.” It’s his right as POTUS.

If President Trump thinks Witchfinder Mueller is someone who can be reasoned with, I have to agree with you. If The Donald is going to make that mortician looking, corruptocrat son of a bitch an offer he can’t refuse, well... OK. I’d rather Mueller was Moe Greened though. Him and that whole nest of FIB Stasi-wannabee whores.
It would be a mistake to fire Mueller. The way to handle it is to announce the Special Counsel authorization ends on April 15th, or May first - pick a date. And tell the Special Counsel to have his investigation complete and ready for public dissemination on that date. Then thank him profusely for his arduous and dedicated work.

Trump waits to meet with Mueller after the OIG report is released. Mueller will be named as a co-conspirator, along with Comey and other bad players.
Trump confronts Mueller at the interview and turns the tables on him. Something along these lines:
"Mr. Mueller, please don't believe what you see in the media. I have no intentions of firing you. But I am asking my AG, Jeff Sessions, to step in and join us in our meeting for a few minutes. He wants to inform you of your indictment for conspiracy to take down a sitting US president.
No, Bob, you won't be fired but you will be charged, tried and found guilty of federal crimes. You're going away for a while. And you will lose your pension. Put that in your EX-Special Prosecutor pipe and smoke it, Bob.
Marshalls? Would you please step in here and cuff Mr. Mueller and take him into custody. And hey, Bob, in case you haven't figured it out yet, our interview is over."

President Trump, if they catch you saying that you cut your toe nails on Tuesday night, and they can prove that you actually did it on Monday night, they’ll charge you with lying to federal investigators...in the House of Representatives, as the basis for your impeachment.
