Donald Trump to Republicans: We Have to Go ‘Further Right’ as Democrats Go Further Left
Breitbart ^ | 03/21/2018 | Charles Spiering

President Donald Trump advised Congressional Republicans to move further to the right side of the political spectrum, noting that Democrats were moving further left.

“They have gone so far left, we have to go a little bit further right,” Trump told Republicans and donors at the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraising dinner on Tuesday night.

Trump remarked that Congressional Democrats were moving left on nearly every issue, just like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“These days, there’s no such thing as a Blue Dog Democrat, a Red State Democrat, or a Conservative Democrat because they are all Pelosi Democrats,” he said, calling them “way outside of the American mainstream.”

Trump pointed out that since he won the presidency, House Democrats voted against border security, lower taxes, bans on late-term abortion, and developing American energy.

“They would take over American health care; take away your Second Amendment; and ship away your jobs to other countries, like has gone on for so many years,” he said. “And those days are over.”

Trump announced to the audience that they raised $32 million for House Republicans at the dinner. He also promised to raise more money and campaign for Republican candidates in the midterm elections.

He mentioned Democratic candidate Connor Lamb who won the special election in Pennsylvania in a Republican district — warning that Democrats would run new candidates who would hide their leftist agenda.

“That’s why we must tell the truth over and over again: A vote for a House Democrat is a vote for higher taxes, open borders, and the destruction of American jobs and American wealth. It’s also the destruction of the American Dream,” Trump said.

Say what you want about his style, but a big part of Trump’s success is that he has a pitch perfect political ear.

Ryan and McConnell want to chase the Donkeys to the LEFT.

Wrong marketing plan...

He’s right of course.

If you think the Democrats Leftward swing with Obama was bad, wait until the pendulum swings back their way the next time.

Every time it gets even more extreme.

Good luck with that.

All of the democrats and most of the republicans want President Trump gone.

Unfortunately for them, all of us “deplorables” who voted for President Trump say otherwise.

The President is right most of the time. The moron DC republicans would do well to heed what he says.

The worthless GOP wants nothing whatsoever to do with conservatism.

I agree. Moving to the center to appease the Left only serves to move the center.

Communists create fascists becuase that is the only antidote. That is the history of fascism in the 20th century. A free society of open ideas cannot beat communism.

To the GOP what Conservatism means is give whatever the Chamber of Cronies and the Free Traitors™ want.

Trump doing the job that Ryan and McConnell won't do.

Trump needs to push those two (and some others) aside and start leading the rest of them by the nose.

I also think it is important for the R's to have a consistent voice too. Getting undermined by the Rinos and GOPe is only played as divisive by the lame stream media.

It is obvious to a businessman that you should seek to differentiate yourself from your competition, be it in price or quality or market served. Trump is saying “they own this side of the market and left this other one totally underserved. Yet you try to copy them and go after their core market. Fools, embrace the opening and win all the folks who feel left out! Stop fighting them for their 35% of the market and go secure our 45%!”

Like I said, obvious to a smart businessman, so of course for 30 years the GOP had it backwards. Teach them, Mr President. Teach them.

“Liberal New Yorker” telling the Never Trumpers in Congress they are too far to the Left.

That got to be causing a few heads to explode in the “Movement Conservative” media today.

The problem is, yes ,there are no “moderate” democrats left in office in DC, the party has purged them all.. but there are pleanty of blue dog democrat voters out there, and they are who gave Trump his win in 2016, particularly in the upper midwest.

IF the GOP goes insane right, they will lose those voters... if they are smart they will realize they can have them for the rest of their lives.

PA-18 showed the GOP so far has been STUPID.

Trump has the intelligence to see that if we are to bring America back we must go further right and hold our Constitution up high. Go Trump.

RE: It is obvious to a businessman that you should seek to differentiate yourself from your competition, be it in price or quality or market served

Trump’s business experience should serve his party well here ( assuming they’re going to listen ).

If you have Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola, how do you market a product that differentiates your brand so that it
will correctly position itself in the minds of consumers — Create the UN-COLA.

In 1962, Avis was in search of a new advertising campaign. Since its inception, the car rental company had trailed behind the market leader, Hertz. So the ad agency Doyle Dane Bernbach decided to embrace Avis’ second-place status as a sneaky way to tout the brand’s customer service. “When you’re only No. 2, you try harder,” went the new tagline. “Or else.”

The “We Try Harder” ads were an instant hit. Within a year, Avis went from losing $3.2 million to earning $1.2 million—the first time it had been profitable in more than a decade. From 1963 to 1966, as Hertz ignored the Avis campaign, the market-share percentage gap between the two brands shrunk from 61–29 to 49–36. Terrified Hertz executives projected that by 1968 Avis might need a new ad campaign—because it would no longer be No. 2. They never insisted that they were number 1 ( futile at that time ).

Same principle applies here. You can’t win by telling the voting public — Democrats go left, we’ll also go left, but not as left as they’re going.
