Facebook is holding an open meeting for all employees following allegations that data belonging to its users was harvested by Cambridge Analytica.
The company's chief executive and founder Mark Zuckerberg has not commented on the scandal nor made a public appearance since the story broke.
Mr Zuckerberg will not be present to lead Tuesday's meeting, which instead will be chaired by Facebook's deputy general counsel, Paul Grewal.
Cambridge Analytica is accused of illegally harvesting the personal data of 50 million Facebook users.
The crisis meeting follows a stock fall which wiped $37bn (£26bn) off its value as investigations are launched by the UK's Information Commissioner as well as European authorities.
According to an internal calendar invitation seen by technology publication The Verge, the meeting is scheduled for 10am Pacific Time (5pm UK time) today.
The Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, has sought an urgent court warrant to search the premises of Cambridge Analytica in London for evidence of any breaches of the Data Protection Act.
Ms Denham is pursuing evidence as part of her look at the company's use of data analytics for political purposes and has filed for the warrant after Cambridge Analytica failed to respond to a deadline for access to its records.
It follows news that Facebook's staff were themselves attending Cambridge Analytica's offices on Monday night, which Ms Denham demanded they cease, stating that the social media company's search "would potentially compromise a regulatory investigation".

Yeah but the whole meeting will be interrupted five times as the “alllllauhhhh akbarrrrrrrrrrr” call to prayers will hamper all the talking points. Zuckers Jihad Meeting will end with more dhimmi’s.
I think this is where the board parts company with the ‘boy wonder’ and he becomes a consultant-only. They need someone who looks upon the media device only as a business. Zuckerberg is not that guy.
I’ll predict that Zuckerberg gets pretty angry about the path ahead, and retreats off to Costa Rica or some Pacific Island to rethink social media and invent the next evolution of social media.
I’ve always thought Facebook was evil, from the minute after I signed up and they started feeding me suggestions based on my information. I only use it to snoop on what others post and only regret that I did not make up a totally fictitious profile instead of a truthful but very sparse one.
Well, ole zuck already dumped a lot of his stock!

I have one fake FB account I use to research potential new hires.
Someone once asked if the reason I don’t have an actual account was fear that FB wouldn’t protect my information.
I responded “Protect it from who? They have direct access to it.”
They didn’t understand.
He still has something >$50 billion worth.
Same with Amazon.
I’m in the employment recruiting world...FB has been a good source to weed out possible trouble hires. It’s interesting to creep (as my kids would say) on potential new hires and see how dumb they are posting their liquored up pictures all over the place.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.
Went directly to their senior management with evidence of crimes in process on their site, and they blew me off.

I never click on any of the ‘suggestions’. My only use for FB is to communicate with out-of-state friends and family. I only have 58 friends and my security is set high. :-) My husband is always reading the ‘news’ on his feed and it’s nothing but fake news or liberal propaganda.
You should do what do. Search for odd groups , example horological then search aircraft then search basket weaving. Next look for clocks made from baskets or aircraft parts. You get the idea. Screw with the algorithm. Quite fun if you use your imagination
That’s the word for what I do... “creep”!
We’ve shot down more than a few applicants based on their FB content.
Interestingly, I also used it to avoid a nutjob landlord with which my daughter almost signed a town house lease. Turns out the guy was the “minister” of a local satanic cult. I kid you not.
