I’d say our biggest mistake was even entering into the One China policy (especially after the Korea War) and not formally recognizing Taiwan’s Federal government decades ago. Like 4-5 decades ago when China was a shadow of it’s current expanding power.
China and Turkey both need to be taken behind the woodshed.
..........was there on the USS Hector in either 70 or 71.
Care free, money in my pocket, best several days of my life!
Only news back then was Walter Cronkite so we didn’t hear much about what was going on in the world.
US to China. We will defend ourselves.
The Chinese remind me of Norklandia.
A bunch of bellicose talk, not warranted by their capability.
China has an emperor again. They are tired of waiting for Taiwan.
Funny thing is Russia has an almost czar. The Bear and the Dragon don’t get along that well. A smart foreign policy would exploit that.
True, true. Bammy was facing the wrong way...
What a shame. Terrible. /sarc
Taiwan, a country we give so much for, tariffs our exports to them at around 8%. We have no friends.
I am married to a Taiwanese lady and have spent many happy days in Taiwan. It’s a beautiful country and even more beautiful people. They go out of their way to help each other. You see the police helping little old ladies at the train stations.
china on the other hand think they own everything inc treating their people like livestock. I think they recently said they discovered America first and are giving us 2 weeks to get out.
I would say the big mistake was forcing Chiang to retreat to Taiwan and then recognizing the Communist government in China.
MacArthuer and Chiang Kai-shek would likely have reclaimed China but Truman shut that down. Not to be outdone Britain gave Hong Kong back and left their citizens there at the mercy of Communism. Sort of like we left our allies trying to grab on to helicopters leaving Vietnam.
Isn’t this the same a commiefornia? The USA’s rogue state.
Or, if we want to raise it even another DEFCON level, “Come on. Bring it”.
hey chi-coms,
up yours.
I think the new emperor is spouting off for internal consumption to the Imperial Yankee dogs. If I were Trump I wouldn’t say a word but send the 7th fleet into the South China Sea for passage and exercises as they made transit.
And we are their largest customer.
IF our financial system goes, so does theirs.
Isn’t that Japan’s emperor?
