To: Enlightened1
the only mistake was not nuking then during the Korean War.

This has been an issue for over 50 years. In the early 70s, I was in school with a Taiwanese woman who feared she wouldnt be able to visit home, if China issued travel restrictions.

And so it begins. China should be patient. When the ‘tards get a democrat president back in office, we’ll once again assume the “position” and let them have their way with us.

Back in my navy days Kaohsiung, Taiwan was a frequent port stop. There was general saber rattling from mainland china, nothing serious.

I was teaching flight instruction to students from both China and Taiwan. They got along great together. It’s governments that can’t get along. So there was the PRC and the ROC.

China owns about $1.2 trillion worth of US Treasury bonds (US debt). It would be a shame if someone put tariffs on China while at the same time nullifying that debt.
