Former U.S. Rep. Charles Djou says he is leaving the Republican Party.

Djou, in a column written for the online news site Civil Beat today, cited the party’s leadership under President Donald Trump as the main reason that led to his decision.

Djou wrote,“Today after much consideration, I abandon my party because I am unwilling to abandon my principles. I can no longer stand with a Republican Party that is led by a man I firmly believe is taking the party of Lincoln in a direction I fundamentally disagree with, and a party that is unwilling to stand up to him.”

They sure take themselves seriously, don’t they?

The last part just sounds ridiculous.

How old is he again?

And just what does Dear Charlie “fundamentally disagree with”?

American First?

N Korea?

ISIS?

Markets?

Jobs, jobs, and more jobs?

Speak up, Charlie . . where’s the beef?

Dijou was elected in a special election created when Democrat, Neil Abercrombie, resigned from Congress to run for Governor of Hawaii. In that election, five Democrats, four Republicans, and four independent candidates were competing for a top vote wins the seat election. That divided vote elected Dijou with 39.4% of the vote to the vacant seat.

Dijou’s term was short (May to January 2010). When the 2010 general election came, Dijou was defeated by Democratic nominee State Senator Colleen Hanabusa, who won by a 53% to 47% margin. Since that loss, Dijou ran for Congress 2 more times and Mayor of Honolulu. He lost them all.

Well, there’s the opportunity for his former constituents! Get moving, and nominate a better candidate as soon as possible!

DaJoo is a Pissant 1st Class , a snarky mental midget & marginal American. Much like our ‘ now’ Lt Gov , Doug Chin . Zero hereditory allegiance to the United States of America . Shake & bake foreigners . Keiko ‘ Kaimuki Mazie’ Hirono.

I was agreeing with you, President Trump is getting the job done. People like Djou and the other Deep State weasels in both parties oppose him for precisely that reason. They like things rotten and corrupt as they are.
