In a joint statement from the YPG and the Autonomous Administration in Afrin, it was promised that ‘the resistance in Afrin will continue until every inch of Afrin is liberated, and the people of Afrin will return their villages’. The Kurdish led administration also claimed that they have asked civilians to leave in order to avoid atrocities now that the conflict has reached a new stage.

“We would like to declare that our war against the Turkish occupation and the Takfiri forces calling themselves the Free Army has entered a new stage, the transition from direct confrontation war to hit-and-run tactics is necessary to avoid the deaths of more civilians and to strike at the enemy. Our forces are everywhere in Afrin” they said.

The YPG and the Afrin adminsitration, furthermore, condemned Russia and Turkey directly for the occupation, and blamed international silence for the current situation of the city.

“Break your silence, if Erdogan is not stopped today, he will threaten the whole world,” a YPG spokesperson said in a press conference.

On Sunday, unconfirmed statements made by the Turkish Armed Forces, and President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey claimed that the Turkish military and its FSA affiliates had captured the city of Afrin.

I feel deep sadness for all who died and those struggling to survive this.

No communication is coming out of Efrin in Turkey's control. There have already been beheadings. Turkey's Islamist Jihadi's will do their usual.

There were 10's of thousand Ezidi's in the city. The Jihadi's will kill them if they can.

This is due to a deal between Russia, Turkey, Iran, and Assad. They will get their oil pipelines. They will reinstate repressive regimes upon all.

A very dark day today.

Erdogan is a threat to the world. Turkey has a tremendous amount of firepower. Upgrading as well. Kurds are no match for them.

No, not without US support.

Yes, Erdogan will be emboldened by this. He will jump to Russia at some point unless he is removed first.

I’m physically ill from this today. Great Evil is taking place now.

Great day for Turkey.

March 18 is the anniversary of Ottoman’s victory over Britain and France in world war one.

Afrin is lost, confirmed by several sources:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/report-turkey-backed-forces-push-into-syrian-town-of-afrin/2018/03/18/1c87b1fa-2a82-11e8-a227-fd2b009466bc_story.html?utm_term=.c7ffd4dbad2f

Look at a map. It was always tactically and strategically going to be lost.

Eventually, that entire enclave and district will likley be annexed to Turkey.

The future of the former Syria is partition and ethnic reorganization.
