Engineering feat? It's friggin' concrete! And didn't last a week.
THIS actual engineering feat was built in 1777, still stands today, and handled vehicular traffic into the 1960s.

I read where the original design had the walkway supported with cables from a tower - none of which is seen at the collapsed walkway.
Sooo, maybe they forgot the supports?

I’ll bet one or two dissenters warned about this and they were told to shut up.

Is this Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s district? You can bet the builders met all the PC criteria, with the exception of being competent.

Not having a temporary center support in place was ‘shear’ stupidity.

In Florida, among those of us who have had to deal with FIU engineers, FIU is commonly called Florida Immitation University. Their engineering grads suck. Lots of religion of pieces cheating halfwits.

Florida bridge that collapsed was touted as 'engineering feat come to life' He just didn't know it would be such a short lifespan.
To: Navy Patriot
“The bridge was built in full before being rotated and moved into place over a portion of 8th Street, US 41, in just a few hours.”
Since it was to ultimately be supported by cable stays and not completed until next year, it was not built “in full” as was stated. The deck and roof may have been, but not the entire bridge.

They meant to say, "an engineering DE-feat come to death"

Why on earth didn’t they block off traffic until the suspension cables were installed and the safety of the whole thing had been thoroughly tested? That didn’t make any sense at all, to have cars traveling on this road before all had been completed. I sincerely hope the families of the deceased and injured sue the stupid third-rate university out of existence.

Titanic was an engineering feat, too.
