Republicans are panicking after a Democrat just cleaned up in a deep-red PA district

Republicans are panicked after Democrat Conor Lamb closed in on a victory over Republican Rick Saccone in a Pennsylvania congressional district that went for President Donald Trump by 20 points in 2016.

That Lamb could perform so well in a district that overwhelmingly supported Trump and had sent a Republican to Congress without much contention for the better part of two decades signaled major challenges for the party as it seeks to maintain its congressional majorities in this year's midterm elections.

"It's really hard to see how anyone looks at the factors Republicans are facing at this time, and the environment Republicans are in, and conclude anything other than that we are heading for a very difficult cycle," a Republican strategist close to the race told Business Insider.

"The narrow margin in a district the president won handily should be a serious wake up call for Republican incumbents across the map," the person added late Tuesday night. "No suburban district is safe and every candidate better be ready for the most difficult cycle of their career."

There are roughly 120 House seats currently controlled by Republicans in districts that are not as solidly Republican as Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional District.

Lamb's results came on the heels of Democratic Sen. Doug Jones' shocking win in Alabama and big wins for the party in New Jersey and Virginia late last year. As of 12:30 a.m. on the East Coast, Lamb led Saccone by a slim margin of just more than 500 votes with only some absentee ballots outstanding. Lamb declared victory, and Democratic campaign groups followed suit.

Needing a huge boost from those ballots to leapfrog Lamb, Saccone told supporters he was going to "fight" until the very end. But many Democrats already proclaimed Lamb the victor.

“In all, Obama’s tenure caused major damage to Democrats all over the nation and in the Congress where he reduced them to a minority.”

————

Maybe so, and the GOPestablishment has done nothing substantial to reward the GOPbase with legislation that is anti-globalist......(traitor elephants)

“Like it or not, Democrat voters are really, really motivated by this Trump-hating frenzy that says if they fail to show up and RESIST, the world is quite literally going to end. “

———-

And, the RINO/GOPe globalist traitors have done nothing but hyped that hysteria with their own anti-Trump, anti-nationalist, rhetoric.....

More like, “He looks better than that other guy.”

Like I said, show me pics of two candidates, and I’ll guess who wins correctly at least 95% of the time, without knowing a thing about them.

"Have they tossed out all of the illegal alien votes yet?"

Not only have they not tossed out the illegal foreign national votes, but they are advocating for more foreign interference in future elections.

Your theory has repeatedly proven true ever since Nixon forgot to bring his razor to the 1960 debates.

It's still 5 - 1 in favor of Republicans as far as US House of Representatives bye election wins are concerned, even if the Democrat ends up winning after all votes are counted. Not to mention the Dem would have won by the doing of the teeth. I don't see no blue waves.

National Senate AND Congressional seats were LOST in RED districts

So far the GOP has won 5 out of 6 US House of Representatives bye elections. Democrats have won just one, if we count PA 18. And even that one Democrat win is by a squeaker.

I don’t see it that way. State issues DO intersect with national issues. THAT, and the fact that:

1) These were GOP held seats in red states ( e.g. Oklahoma )

2) The GOP did NOT win any Democrat held seats

3) National Senate AND Congressional seats were LOST in RED districts

Tell me that this is a trend. Better not ignore this.

Since President Trump got elected, the overwhelming majority of "Republicans" (i.e., ESTABLISHMENT, "DEEP STATE", RINOS) have done EVERYTHING within their power to oppose, stymie, and thwart the President's pro-America agenda and the will of the electorate; along with dissing his base and habitually distancing themselves from President Trump and the American citizens who support him.

Is it any wonder they lost? They have continually lied to us, spit in our faces and still expect us to vote for them when they hate us "deplorables".

The "Republicans" have taken our vote for granted FOR DECADES. We gave them EVERYTHING they asked for that they said they needed to end Obamessiah death-care, end corruption, end the illegal-alien envasion, secure the border, build the wall, fill in the blank... the House, the Senate, the Presidency. They got it ALL, and what have they done with this power?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

We have learned our lesson and "we won't be fooled again".

If the Republicans want our votes, they will have to EARN THEM BY supporting President Trump, his pro-American agenda and the Republican and independent voters that put him and them in power. If not, they can pound sand because they won't be getting our votes, period!

GOPe blew this race, utterly and completely, even with a less than stellar candidate, this should have never been closer than 8 points... but they ran a Rovean race like 2016 never happened!

They literally played the same old tired playbook that hadn’t worked for 15+ years, and expected a different outcome!

The messaging of this race was HORRIBLE, and WRONG from the get go.... and never ever corrected.

YOu cannot throw out Red Meat for the base, and nothing else and expect to win!!!

The goal from day one of this race should have been to connect with, and motivate the Trump MAGA I and D voters.. they NEVER EVER put out a message to try to reach them let alone motivate them to show up.

This was literally a complete example of POLITICAL MALPRACTICE!!! and it wasn’t just Saccone, most of the ad and message was coming from the National PACS and their ad buys and it was TERRIBLE and INCORRECT!

If this was the message for the fall, they will handily lose the house.. .

EVERYONE IN POSITIONS OF LEADERSHIP AT ANY PAC, COMMITTEE, THE RNCC, ETC SHOULD ALL BE FIRED!!! I have never ever seen such complete and wanton ineptitude across the board IN MY LIFE!

the rank and file worker kicked butt, they worked harder than I have ever seen in this district, unfortunately the leadership set them up to fail!! And they still nearly pulled it off in spite of the leaderships incompetence.

They put these poor folks on a sheet of ice and told them run to the finish line.. They should be proud, the people who were giving them direction and deciding the message should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!

Trump showed you how to win!!! And you ignored all of it and ran this campaign like 2016 NEVER happened..

SERIOUSLY, HOW MANY MILLIONS DID YOU WASTE ON PEOPLE WHO MISSED THE FUNDAMENTAL OR JUST IGNORED IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T LIKE IT???

This LOSE WAS INEXCUSABLE!!

TELL YOU MORONS WHAT, PAY ME HALF OF THE COMBINED SALARIES AND FEES AND WHATEVER IT WAS YOU PAID THESE FOLKS AND I GUARANTEE I CAN GIVE YOU A BETTER OUTCOME!

IDIOTS!! FLAT OUT IDIOTS!

I saw one story quoting a Trump Democrat who voted Lamb cuz Saccone made no effort to court the coal businesses or unions.

How can a candidate be so stupid?
