Try to explain to the American people that an AR15 firing at 8 rounds per second isn’t an automatic weapon. They won’t give a damn about your technicalities. Now you know what Trump and Scott were up against.

Are you really this obtuse? Technicalities do in fact matter. There is a precise definition of a machine gun in the U. S. Code. Bump fire stocks do not turn a semi auto firearm into a machine gun, no matter what their rate of fire is. Or are you OK with a regulatory agency arbitrarily making law, as DOJ is in this case? This is a disastrous precedent, that extends far beyond bump fire stocks.

A stock AR-15 can be fired at 5 to 6 shots per second. Do you want to classify all semiautos as machine guns?

Scott only needed to announce he just vetoed this bill. Now was that hard? What the hell would anyone have done about that? I can tell you now his political career is over so he's got that going for him.

I have seen many guys that can bump fire from the shoulder with an AR and nothing but their finger and do it even better than slide fire users. Bump fire stocks are only a crutch for people who don't want to take the time to learn how to bump using just their finger. A simple high end trigger for an AR or and AK makes bump fire very easy.

So do we go all in for a semi auto ban next because that's all that's really required to bump fire? Oh, I forgot. Bump firing has been around for many years before anyone thought of making a stock for it.

How about if we give up our bump stocks and the feds and police give up their machine guns?

Don't you agree a machine gun is only good for spraying a bunch of bullets and killing as many people as possible? Where is that subject in the law enforcement training manuals? When was the last time we needed a cop to spray bullets and kill as many people as possible? If not ever then why do cops and federal agents have machine guns? I can play this game all day.

Now you know what Trump and Scott were up against.

Trump was elected to deal with stupid, emotional arguments put forth by leftists. And often the best approach is just to just listen and say "no".

Scott simply decided that caving in to the leftist media and a bunch of activist liberal high school students would help his chances at election, like a typical RINO.

None of the new limitations on the rights of American citizens will have any effect on future terrorist and murderers, nor will they prevent future attacks by deranged individuals or terrorists. They are just the work of weak politicians currying favor with leftists.
