Are you really this obtuse? Technicalities do in fact matter.There is a precise definition of a machine gun in the U. S. Code. Bump fire stocks do not turn a semi auto firearm into a machine gun, no matter what their rate of fire is. Or are you OK with a regulatory agency arbitrarily making law, as DOJ is in this case? This is a disastrous precedent, that extends far beyond bump fire stocks.

This day was set in stone the day they made the bump stock. The manufacturers knew it, and everyone that bought one for the AR15 knew it was coming. You can argue all you want about technicalities, but the American people will never agree with you.
