Two young reporters have schooled Brian Stelter on the role of journalists . . .
On his Reliable Sources CNN show this morning, Stelter tried and failed to get his two young reporter guests to join him in freaking out about President Trump. Stelter began by saying that when he reads stories in the news, I get worried about the country; I get worried about the President.
He then asked 25-year old Olivia Nuzzi of New York magazine, do you get worried, Olivia? Nuzzi wouldnt bite:
No, thats not my concern. My concern is to figure out what is going on and why it is happening that way.

Stelter aka Costanza’s nephew.
Pleasant surprise: two young reporters school CNN’s Stelter on the role of journalists, and refuse to join in his freak-out over Trump.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
OMG - old school journalists? Is that even possible?
I was truly, pleasantly, surprised.
Particularly since as young journalists trying to advance their careers, they might be tempted to go along with whatever line Stelter was pushing.
Can’t-stand-ya. Fitting observation.
CNN's Stelter trying to create fake news by asking loaded, Lefty feel-good questions to the guests and they both tell him that's not their jobs.
If only CNN would figure this out and take these two reporters advice and lead, they would not be the most "Busted" name in news.
Most Busted: good one!
It was gutsy of these two young reporters to stand up to Stelter.
This maps identical to what my millennial niece said last weekend.
“Something is going on that doesn’t match what the media is saying...I want to know what is really going on”
I nearly fell out of my chair.
They don't support the hate Trump 24/7 narrative of CNN.
Wow = especially the man. He had every opportunity to audition for a job on FNN by trashing the woman but passed on that. Nice.
“You can bet they won’t be invited back on CNN.”
That’s what made what they did so gutsy and admirable, IMO. Even more amazing is that they each work for liberal outfits: WaPo and New York magazine.
I think Stetler should go back to pretending to be an architect at VanDelay Industries. He sucks at pretending to be a journalist.
I had to Google that one, but LOL.
Maybe one of these days, Stelter will come out with “it’s not a lie about Trump, if you believe it.”
Ethics, backbone and NOT part of the group-think... that is impressive.
The statements are usually something like “I read stories” and “I get worried”.
They don’t get specific about what Trump has done that worries them. They may cite a specific from an anonymous source (that’s usually misleading or incorrect) or a tweet from Trump. But not an actual presidential action or even better a bad consequence that has resulted - things that could make a reasonable person worry about the next action. There are some specifics they could legitimately state concerns about
* I get worried about his action on climate change (his Paris action doomed us all)
* I get worried about his tariffs (the economy may tank)
* I get worried that he wants to close the border or stop sanctuary cities (immigrants will be harmed).
I can disagree on these and we can have a rational discussion.
But I assume it’s more effective if they are just “worried”. That includes EVERYTHING. There’s no real rebuttal or possible discussion of fact if they’re simply “worried”. Just a message that everyone should be worried about everything. If they need to extend the segment or article they’ll talk about all the other people who are also worried. Not that there are specifics anyone should worry about, but the amount of people who are worried should make anyone else also worried.
She’s 25? Yeah. Right. and I’m 30. (I was born in ‘56.)
Good one.
Their CNN contracts just expired.
Good observations.
