From the article...

“In early April 2017, he sent a message that began, “Hello, I’m a leftist from the United States interested in fighting for the cause in Rojava.’’”

Not trying to throw his statement back at you. It’s just that I was a little supportive of him until I read that.

I guess he thought he was safer in Syria than Chicago, but better medical in Chicago than Syria.

Mea culpa, mea culpa. If my brain saw the “Leftist” quote in the article, it did not record it. My bad.

There are places in Chicago that are more dangerous than in Syria.

Yes, medical is much better in Chicago, but sounds like our military hospitals have already done a lot for him.

I would not do what he just did. (but I am 70)

But I do strongly support Syrian Kurds right to autonomy earned by eliminating ISIS. Not sure how we will help them do it, but it needs to happen.

The problem right now is the issue of Efrin. It was protected against Turkey by Russia until recently. That removal of air restriction was done by Russia, Assad and Iran. All 3 are enemies of the U.S.A. Yes, Turkey is a NATO member, but is also against everything that NATO stands for.

No apology needed! It just surprised me that he used that in his opening statement to the YPG.

We’re not going to fight WW3 over Syria.

Not worth 1 drop of American blood.

Putin should worry about his tiny economy.

It’s the kind of opinion that flows easily from the kind of person who expects someone else’s kids to die for his opinion>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Not really. you know nothing of my kids or what they die for.

But then prior to WWII, the world stood watched as the Nazis came to power and expanded into Poland and the lower countries, until we had to have WWII to put them into the dust bin of history.

Now Russia has annexed Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. And now his expansionism continues. Much of this is designed to keep hoardes of Muslim refugees created by Obama from entering Russia. WHere will Russia stop? Nothing is there to staop it except israel.. So how would an ME entirely controlled by Russia appear? For one there would no longer be an Israel. Think about that when you tuck your kids into bed or send them their birthday cards, for they will be living soon in a totalitarian world.

The Russians are still fighting Nazis.

If you have a problem with the Russians fighting the Nazis Hillary installed in Ukraine, or fending off the hordes of Islam that the US happily encourages to assault them, maybe a good long hard look in the mirror at what you have become is in order.

I don’t know the people involved. I did appreciate a human connection to what is happening in Syria and the Region.
