Mt Rose and Heavenly are both around 8,000 feet.

I wonder what it was like at 10,000 feet?

“News reported wind gusts to 150 mph at the ridge tops. YIKES!”

One of our adult off spring had a friend in the Tahoe area get blown of his feet and one in the DC area this past week, while trying to walk from their hotels to nearby restaurants.

He said both of these guys played tight end positions in college football and are built like rocks with telephone poles for legs.

Both were shook up and got some bruises to go with their bruised pride.

Boy did they need it
We were just at walleys near genoa and we’re going up to the meadow by Mr Rose to sled and Xc ski cause there was only show there
I rode my mtn bike in 1” of fresh power up to 7500 ft out of Genoa and the old road up to Daggett pass was open all the way up
There was no one in South h lake. It was stunning
Then it got cold and now it’s snow snow snow
I love snow
Cheers.

It will be much more of a water aid to Northern California than to southern California.

Yes, some of the northern California water does get to the south, through the California Aqueduct system; but that does not change the rate of precipitation in Southern California, which is by natural history a semi-arid region, with lots of patches of deserts. In my life time some parts of southern California have seen a general increase in how dry they remain from year to year.

Riiiiiight. They just let the melted snow run off into the ocean to preserve the habitat of the 2” schmuckfish. How does snow end the drought if you don’t keep the water from it?
