Sounds like a typical corrupt Mexican government operation. If it wasn’t located on our border, Mexico would have disappeared by now.
Only foreigners and politicians gain.
Very interesting.
When I worked at Lockheed we actually had a huge refrigerator to keep the parts cold and ductile so we could shape them properly before they had a chance to age harden.
Other countries cheat on trade. Previous US presidents, and most members of Congress, have generally ignored the cheating putting globalism ahead of the national interest. The US economy and US worker has suffered.
Trump has called their bluff. Wall Street, the press, the CEO’s of multinational corporations, foreign governments, and “moderate” Republicans are squealing. Will Trump press forward, ignoring the intense pressure, or will he cave on tariffs like George W. Bush did early in his administration?
Lest we forget, the period of highest tariffs in US history (1865-1900) were also the years of most rapid economic growth. In 35 years the US transitioned from an economy decimated by a brutal civil war to the greatest economy on the planet, surpassing the powers of Europe. We’ve seen a similar rise in the mercantilist Chinese economy over the past 35 years while the US economy has stagnated leading the globalist “free trade” agenda.
“Aluminum manufacturers receive subsidies in China. This means Chinese companies could be able to sell aluminum at a lower price than American firms.”
Wonder if the loudness of Mark Levin’s rants will overpower that particular disequilibrium in capitalism. Or repeating over and over, and smacking his lips, along with many others, the word “conservatism”.
I remember photos from a few years ago that showed huge piles of ingots of aluminum, copper, and other metals sitting in dock warehouses in China.

Then, the beginning of the Deep State in America started and was named the Progressive Party United States.
Progressive Party (United States, 1912) - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Party_(United_States,_1912):
The 1912 Progressive National Convention at the Chicago Coliseum. The Progressive Party was a third party in the United States formed in 1912 by former President Theodore Roosevelt after he lost the presidential nomination of the Republican Party to his former protégé, incumbent President William Howard Taft.
In the old days our government was funded by tariffs and sin taxes on booze. No income tax. Might be the way to go since everyone wants to export to the U.S. Government didn’t cost so much then. It was smaller.
Chicaps were buying copper when it was very very cheap.
I have no doubt about it. Have seen it steel, honey, garlic and other Chinese products facing anti-dumping in the USA.
US Customs is far too slow and bureaucratic to do anything about it, at least quickly.
Kasich’s net worth is +/- $25,000,000
Son of a mailman.......
China does the exact same thing with their honey ...
“aluminum age-hardens in the heat and becomes more difficult to work into shape.”
wouldn’t that go away when those raw ingots are remelted for working?
True. I would imagine that would add to the expense for those buying the cheap Chinese aluminum though..
One of the issues I would have would be confirming the true content of the alloys though - Trusting the Chinese to get the alloy right would be a bit far for me.
So true. Before we had SS, income tax, Fed. Reserve, Dept of XYZ, massive state of bureaucracy.
Hell, back when it was still a Republic, more or less.
Thanks for that. Many harmful things occurred around that same time, in particular the Federal Reserve and federal income tax.
