In place of suspensions, expulsions, and arrests for delinquent and violent behavior, the policy called for interventions such as “teen court” and “restorative justice.”
“The Florida Legislature … has instructed school districts ‘that zero-tolerance policies are not intended to be rigorously applied to petty acts of misconduct and misdemeanors, including, but not limited to, minor fights or disturbances,’” says the PROMISE agreement, signed onto by the school district and law enforcement.
In 2015, during a panel of the National Urban League Conference, Runcie said Broward County Public Schools had “the determination and tenacity to become the national leader in closing the achievement gap, and we will get this done … helping our kids in our classrooms and not sending them to courtrooms.”

That is the racism of LOW EXPECTATIONS in which the left indulges. That’s why so many of our inner-city children lose their lives to incarceration or the grave.
This is part of the reason are schools are in such trouble. I worked at a predominately minority school, 98%, and we were called out for suspending or expelling too many minority students. What would the answer be, import white students so we could suspend them? Insanity.
Teacher here, in urban Omaha. There is NO discipline anymore, none. And the feral beasts know it. It is complete anarchy in the schools. It’s amazing to me, that 13% of the population can disrupt the entire learning process. Kids are kids, most just want to do what they need to do and get by, believe it or not, most kids are basically good, but throw in a few “of color”, who basically act like animals: screaming, jumping on each other, profanity, chronic tardiness, skipping class, throwing things in class, listening to music loudly, refusing to follow any request, escalating any redirection, refusing to leave the classroom, fighting, laying on the floor, dancing competitions in the classroom, running around in the classroom, intimidation of others, bullying, intimidation of teacher, leaving classroom and then reentering when ever they feel like it, consuming mass quantities of junk food during class, racist comments, race baiting. THIS IS DAILY.
I feel sorry for the rest of my students. If I have a classroom of 30, and for some god awful reason the counselors have gifted me with 8 or more, “blacks”, that class is doomed. And nothing can be done. NOTHING. The administration, the district, other teachers, NO ONE will say what is actually going on. Welcome to public school people. Like I always say, it’s “location, location, location” or send your kid to private school.
What people not in education do not grasp is that this awful behavior begins in Kindergarten. In certain districts it is almost impossible to teach between the out of control kids & the kids who come in with no skills whatsoever. Like they were found in the forest & brought to school.
No conversation or books at home. Some barely know their name! Then I go to the grocery in the town where we live and the mom is involving the baby/young child in her purchases,....talking in an animated voice.
Yesterday I sat in on a meeting w/ a parent whose child was being put into special ed. ( he frankly should be in youth court, but hey) She had her newborn & said grandma was taking care of her two other kids(she didn’t know that her son didn’t come to school that day) while she cared for her 3 month old. She THEN said she is so tired that she sleeps all day long!!!!! I guess the TV is watching her baby. It was apparent she had an extremely low IQ.
After she left the teacher told me that the baby daddy had another girlfriend, so she chased after her in her car one day & rammed her off the road. Someone in the car died & she was never charged. Yep, that’s a day at school.
If Peterson was merely following orders why did he resign so quickly?

What about the other millions of Florida teenagers who live outside of Broward. They have to OBEY the law. The state is running DUAL forms of justice.
Sanctuary for Broward and OBEY for the rest the state. It’s a constitutional legal conflict within the state.

Obama/Holder has this planned for each state. And there is also a program through HUD that will count minority residents in each zip code and community and demand that there be representational samples or be fined/punished. So these policies were planning to go nationwide with no recourse.
Obama/Holder will kill and hurt the middle class to get their agenda met.
Somehow I remember seeing Bill Ayers say back a long time ago that he expected that 25 million would have to die in the States before their policies are able to be implemented fully. I bet they have a lot higher number in mind now.
