"Traditionally, the “elitists” have always had the upper hand in this battle by controlling many of our cultural institutions, but the respect for the will of the people — exercised by the ability to elect our political leaders — remained in place. Over time, however, that respect eroded, and today, it is completely gone. Now the “elitists” find the “populists” to be repugnant, backward, and bigoted, and they believe the only way to defeat the people is to use elite institutional power in academia, corporate America, the administrative state, and the mainstream media to stifle debate, force-feed elite opinions masquerading as facts, and stamp out dissent."

Moral of the story: things won't end well.

This is a domino effect. Since the Bill of Rights is, for the most part, not taught in our schools, and we had a “lost decade of Obama” who thinks and espouses that the Constitution is a “charter of negative liberties”, we need to protect the entire Bill of Rights as 1A and 2A are being eroded.

Compare that quote to another from "The Russian Revolution" by Alan Moorehead 1958 and notice the similarities.

"…but the fact remained that this was a predatory state which the Czar and a small group of noblemen and bureaucrats ruled for their own exclusive benefit...The ruling group owned all the wealth, enjoyed all the privileges and monopolized all the political power, and it did not intend to give up any of its prerogatives. It considered the peasants to be little better than animals..."

We are letting the 1A be eroded online because we remain wedded to the orthodoxy that Facebook, Google, et. al. are private corporations, and hence we have no business trying to regulate them.

Well, SCROOOOOOO that! This is about survival. The Left is once again hoisting us on the petard of our own virtue, just as Alinsky told them to do.

As a practical matter almost all speech today takes place online. If a few Silicon Valley companies retain the power to decide what does and does not get said there, then the 1A is, for all practical purposes, dead.

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice:

Therein lies our greatest failure.... "Establish Justice".. As long as the Clinton's are walking around free there is no justice...

But that's not our ONLY failure.. Allowing our government to make all kinds of laws that only apply to the common citizen and not to the lawmakers themselves is a massive mistake....

But the Clinton's ain't the only ones that need to be in the slammer... Our government is full of traders and spy's that need to be shown the gallows...
