Exactly. The purpose of disarming the American people is to then go after the rest of our rights. That is the path to the socialism that America's enemies on the left keep claiming will work the next time. They don't believe it, but that's their standard sales pitch.
Then explain paywalls, fake news, censorship on social media and organized attacks upon dissent in all areas.
This is now a war of ideas and with compromise of 1A they will succeed in eroding 2A to the detriment of everyone.
This has been a systematic attack of the Constitution first-implemented under GW...a traitorous act for which he is solely accountable given his signature and empowering of the police/deep state.
I have my doubts that we as a country will recover absent events eclipsing the first Civil War...

Do not dismiss the 1A attacks so cavalierly; it is one move of many in what’s proving to be an effective strategy capitalizing on the ignorance of the masses. I think the author pretty much nails it, save for his ignorant statement about “most Americans...”
