Florida Governor Asks State’s Top Cop to Probe School-Shooting Response
The Wall Street Journal ^ | February 25, 2018 | Joseph De Avila

Florida Gov. Rick Scott asked the state’s law-enforcement commissioner Sunday to immediately investigate the response to the deadly school shooting last week in Parkland.

Mr. Scott’s move comes as Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said he was further investigating his officers’ handling of the shooting as criticism mounts that the agency failed to stop the gunman.

The law-enforcement commissioner is Rick Swearingen, who was appointed to the post in 2014 and has more than 30 years of experience in the state and capitol-police agencies

Detectives with the sheriff’s office are reviewing claims from officers in nearby Coral Springs Police Department that some Broward deputies failed to enter the school at the appropriate time, the sheriff’s office said late Saturday.

One deputy stationed at the school resigned Thursday after an investigation found he waited outside the building during much of the attack that claimed 17 lives.

“There is no confirmation, at this time, other deputies did not enter the school when they should have,” the office said in a news release. “Again, it’s a claim being investigated to determine if further action is warranted.”

That stooge should not have access to any documents or evidence or communications without direct supervision.

Gov. Rick Scott called on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sunday to review how police handled the response to the shooting. His office said he spoke Sunday to FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen.

“FDLE has confirmed that they will immediately begin their process,” Scott’s office said.

“BSO will fully cooperate with FDLE, as we believe in full transparency and accountability. This independent, outside review will ensure public confidence in the findings,” Israel said Sunday.

“There must be an independent investigation and that is why I asked the FDLE Commissioner to immediately start this process,” Scott said in a statement. “I have spoken to Speaker Corcoran about his request and I understand his concerns. I have spoken to the Speaker regularly since the shooting, and like me, he wants the families to have answers and for there to be full accountability. That’s what the victims and their families deserve.”

When Jake Tapper at CNN rips into the hide of a leftist sheriff, you know that Sheriff Scott Israel is in major trouble.

I’m absolutely convinced the reason the Dem’s released the Schiff Memo yesterday was because they knew they were losing control of the Parkland story. They needed something other than the criminally negligent Broward sheriff to be on the Sunday talkers.

They knew the FL guv and lege was about to call down hell on Sheriff Israel.

Arrest him!!

“Reckless Disregard: An act of proceeding to do something with a conscious awareness of danger, while ignoring any potential consequences of so doing. Reckless disregard, while not necessarily suggesting an intent to cause harm, is a harsher condition than ordinary negligence.”

“Depraved Indifference: To constitute depraved indifference, the defendant’s conduct must be ‘so wanton, so deficient in a moral sense of concern, so lacking in regard for the life or lives of others, and so blameworthy as to warrant the same criminal liability as that which the law imposes upon a person who intentionally causes a crime. Depraved indifference focuses on the risk created by the defendant’s conduct, not the injuries actually resulting.”

GOOD!!!

Rick Scott sometimes makes politically questionable knee jerk mistakes, but usually self corrects. I was about to join his campaign for Senate as a volunteer, but said no way jose when he called for gun control 10 seconds after the shootings.

I did call my reps and said “WAIT! For the facts.” Having read Sundance I knew the corruption of Coward County Sheriff’s office had to break soon. Waaaaay too much to cover up.

I’ll see if Scott pulls back on gun control. I think he will let the legislators kill it and stay silent-ish. We’ll see.

The story is the Israel mouth, not the guns. The progressive elitists will have this guys nuts in a jar on the desk at the DNC. THE INSTITUTION is taking heat, not the guns. An Alynski rule for our radical brothers is to never let be an attack the government institutions. The Lion of a sheriff is breaking those rules.

n the Parkland case, their security system had a dismal record concerning student safety and security that should be brought to public discussion particularly beginning with this school having a so called “gun free zone”.

From what has been reported .This school system did have an understanding with the Broward County Sheriff’s Dept. An officer who may be armed assigned to patrol the multi acre site in a golf cart, but bans guns from the rest of its internal security

Criticism arose when the officer assigned to this duty who was nearing retirement was reported to arrive late and after Cruz had entered the building. The officer stationed himself outside the large structure and had called for support. Two BCSD officers responded Which and did the same seeming to refusing to enter the building while armed . He then left before Cruz did.

Also responding was the Coral Shores PD who entered the building and cleared it. Cruz was captured while fleeing with other students by an alert CSPD officer on the 45 acre campus.

Those laissez faire attitudes strongly suggest examining records beside the interaction between the BCSD and this school board also calls for a review how the bureaucracy at this school handled student vs student, and student vs teacher (Cruz was accused of this) altercations, vandalism, thefts, and drug use. Which are bound to occur were being dealt with.To which a dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents were reported after a visit by Obama occurred was publicly acclaimed.

Because of these Ding Bat liberal policies it brings up another question. Just how safe and secure were those kids ? .Examine records reporting how student vs student, and student vs teacher altercations, vandalism, and thefts, which are bound to occur were being dealt with. Beside the arrangements with the BCSD.

Because in an educational unit this size it’s pretty clear their security system failed . In a secure system Cruz would have never gotten within the grounds let alone inside.

Now that school board has decided to tear down the school which was probably raised by a funding referendums and the grounds house a memorial

This is a big first step in the right direction. Israel came out yesterday and claimed innocence because he did not know what was happening and extended that claim with the justification that Generals were not relieved of command in the military for things that happened within their command that they did not know about.

Picture here the biggest LOL with coffee spurting half way across the room...

This stupid moron Israel has no clue how quickly Generals and Admirals are relieved of their commands, quickly and quietly retired when their subordinates do things that are detrimental to their responsibilities without their knowledge. It happens on a regular basis.

When it happens and the claim is that they did not know about it the very next question is, “why did’t you know about it?” It is your command and you are supposed to know about everything that is going on within your command.

Not knowing is not an excuse, it is an admission of guilt and ignorance of your command.

Israel need to be gone yesterday. He seems to think a picture with Hil LIAR Y is his ticket out of this mess. No, it is not.

Fire his ass instantly and kick him to the curb with zero retirement or benefits.

After 39 ignored complaints about the shooter to his agency and the cowardly conduct of his officers he has no excuses for the readiness, unprofessional conduct, or history of not protecting the citizens he was/is responsible to.

The blood of 17 dead kids and 14 more wounded/injured children are on his hands. Every tear shed by those who loved these students is his damn fault.

He is the top elected official in his area who is tasked with keeping those children safe and he either intentionally or because of total professional inability, failed to do so.

They can not fire him soon enough.
