The Democratic rebuttal memo to the Republican House Intelligence Committee memo on alleged government surveillance abuses was released Saturday afternoon.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., acknowledged its release at his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference, at about 4 p.m.
"It's just posted," he told American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp, quipping that the committee website was probably already crashing due to high traffic.
Democrats say their memo was written as a rebuttal to provide greater context to a Republican memo that was released earlier this month, which outlines abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department against the Trump campaign.
Although the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee voted to make the Democrat’s memo public earlier this month, President Trump refused to declassify it, citing "significant concerns for the national security and law enforcement interests."

Fox News first reported in December that Ohr had been demoted from the position of associate deputy attorney general, after it was revealed he had conducted undisclosed meetings with dossier author Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that produced the salacious document.

The Majority describes Ohr as a senior DOJ official who "worked closely with the Deputy Attorney General Yates, and later Rosenstein" in order to imply Ohr was somehow involved in the FISA process, but there is no indication this is the case
Ohr worked directly for Yates when Yates signed the warrant usng the dossier that Ohr helped arrange.
Sessions is recused. Rosenstein won’t be doing it as he is part of the FISA conspiracy (he signed one of the related FISA applications).
Nunes and others have already indicated they are prepared for the appointment of an SP. President Trump has given him the green light.
Although he could, Trump will not appoint directly as the optics would be detrimental.
You are referring to the expiration of the independent counsel law that allowed for Congress appointing an SP directly.
Congress can convene and in less than a half day, write a limited reinstatement of the expired law to fund an SP in a budget resolution using a simple majority vote. The President can sign it the same day.
The democrats can howl. No one cares.
I don’t see why Sessions could not unrecuse himself for the sole purpose of appointing an independent SP as there are clear implications of his own deputy involvement and there are substantial crimes to be investigated and pressure to investigate those crimes. After appointing, Sessions can step back into his recusal and his dormancy.

That's right, everything in the Schiff memo is weasel worded. Obviously the DOJ's Ohr was working on the dossier from the beginning, and he was probably not the only one.
Idiots in California can think what they will, it doesn’t matter.
What matters is that Congress holds ethics hearings concerning his involvement in human trafficking and child prostitution. As they gather evidence and establish probable cause, the hearing committee can recommend he be suspended while they hand over evidence to DOJ to prosecute.
I realize I'm up in years, and am bilateral Cochlear Implant so fast talkers always makes my head spin, but she does it the best...like most I avoid her and reach for a remote...
Seems they use her often on #Outnumbered during their week day hour show, so I have avoided that as well, and I really like Harris Faulkner. so that doesn't help Fox's ratings at all..

The Democratic and Republican memos were both written like a closing argument on a death penalty case. A lot of emotion, but different points of view. However, Judith Miller (on fox news) sticks to the points of Trump hasn’t done anything to punish the Russians. I wonder what she wanted him to do - tell Vlad to “cut it out”, but then let him invade another country, like Obama did? She, like her other media friends, do not see the harm that they have personally done to America’s trust of the agencies (or the media itself). (In my opinion)

You are not Congress. You seem to think Congress and other parts of the government operate according to some outside authority that you prescribe.
Congress can make laws and pass bills for the President to sign. I described one scenario where that could all be done in less than a day.
Congress has precedent in the Independent Counsel Law that expired. Under that law, they could most certainly appoint an SP and they can do so today after minimal legislative maneuvering.
Ken Starr was appointed by a three-Judge Panel.
Stop posting like you are some sort of arbiter of what government can and can’t do. The only check on Congress is the Constitution. Appointing independent counsels including SPs is not unconstitutional. They can do it. They can pass a budget resolution with a special rider for a limited reinstatement of the old law. They can do a lot more as well. The President will sign what they send him.
The Big Lie is that Strzok "greatly damaged" Clinton's reputation. In fact Stzok worked continuously to exonerate Clinton and watered down the language about Clinton's crimes. From CNN: "Electronic records show Peter Strzok, who led the investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email server as the No. 2 official in the counterintelligence division, changed Comey's earlier draft language describing Clinton's actions as "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless," the sources said." That was done in July, not "days just prior to the election".
I agree about the mainstream media not being interested in the facts. However, there is no role for the courts to force them to do their jobs. That would be illegal under the First Amendment. With the Internet has come New Media that goes around these lazy, self-important “news” reporters. C”N”N’s “reporter” stood outside the White House tonight “reporting” that Nunez’s memo involved “conspiracies. . . about the deep state.” They leave out important facts and constantly say “conspiracy” rather than just being objective and professional (or at least competent).
They sought a warrant last July and didn’t get one. When they applied with the dossier in ? October, it was granted.
Catherine Herridge is on Fox now saying that the Dems were saying it was all about the dossier and that Trump & Co. needed to be investigated. Now, she said, they’re saying it didn’t play a crucial role. They need to release the underlying court papers so that anyone who wants the truth can see it for themselves.

Ohr took the contents of the dirty dossier produced by hjs wife to the FBI...purportedly without informing that his wife had been involved and that he had a prior and ongoing relationship with Glen Simpson/Fusion GPS and Steele.

Upon first glance the main argument seems to be that probable cause did exist to surveil Page, if not the Trump campaign as a whole. There hasn’t as of yet been any evidence released to support that.
The enemy is backed into a corner, probably by the Military and NSA...and Trump. But they will fight to the death.
