When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff's deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school.

knowing he was outmatched.

He wasn't outmatched. If it were a military-trained individual, he would have been outmatched. All he had to do was engage the kid and the kid would have lost his nerve when he first received any return fire. I know teenagers. I promise I do.

“You forgot to mention Uncle Joe Biden whose “Safe Schools Act” created the target rich environment of “gun free zones” from coast to coast.

We have to pin this tale on that jackass.”

Yeah, I’m definitely “NOT Ridin’ with Biden.” He was Obama’s “Boy!”

How many lives weren't saved by these coward Cops?

Can they be convicted of anything?

Excellent Points-—

The police response did absolutely nothing to stop the shooter.

Cruz could have killed dozens more, but chose to stop shooting so he could escape.

The only thing the police did right was to ID the shooter on the street, by chance.

“Who is us? Do you speak for another?”

Yeah, everybody you’re trying to troll.

“I did not direct my comment at you, and I doubt you understand the context.”

It’s a public forum. That said, the context seems to be the same as for all your posts here, where you claim the cops shouldn’t have gone after the killer.

“That’s because you are driven by emotion rather than reasoned argument.”

I’m “driven” by intelligence applied to experience. You, on the other hand, are full of it, arguing for sacrificing kids on the altar of cowardice.

“I’m thinkin’ you’re the troll.”

Right, trolling this site for twenty years, and nobody noticed.

“A troll encrusted in emotional buttons.”

Two of them are stupidity and cowardice.

Correct.. And following Leftist illogic, anyone under 21 should not be trusted to join the military and fight to defend their country.

Just like I predicted.. More and more establishment republicans (Ralph Peters, Condi Rice) are jumping on the anti-gun train to tyranny.

You could tell Sheriff Israel was hiding something when he came out so vehemently against his deputy sheriff.. It was obvious he was trying to deflect blame from himself.

This nonsense again? The LEO in our family is furious that these jerks were derelict in their duty. Why do some on FR disparage all police officers when a couple of bad apples are exposed?

>>Why do some on FR disparage all police officers when a couple of bad apples are exposed?

Because there is a trend and because the Thin Blue Line protects their own. Even in this case, you hear the Thin Blue Line talking about “procedures and policies” as an excuse for a MAN who possessed the necessary weaponry, armor, and skills not running to the the sound of guns to save children. The same Thin Blue Line will justify the shooting of an unarmed citizen for “failing to obey” and because LEOs have a “duty to not retreat”.

I have an LEO in my family too. Remember that everyone defends their profession as being noble and selfless and cops are used to being thought of in that way so much that they DEMAND it. Even gangsters believe that they are doing good for their community.

Not really true. They go in immediately when the whole SWAT team arrives. And a supervisor. And the proper perimeter is established to make sure that the shooter can’t escape. I have a cop in my family and he told me that they aren’t John McClane. They aren’t even the donut cop outside.
>

Anyone have the timeline? I hadn’t heard\read about SWAT. How long we talking here that Coral Springs was able to get to the scene by the time FOUR from Broward were already ‘in position’?

Something just not jiving in the ol’ noggin...

“I noticed most about Seattle was that walking down the sidewalk downtown, women would not look at me.”

Well FFs are the group that “Eats Till They’re Sleepy, Then Sleeps Till They’re Hungry” 99% of their lives.
Both groups are just union goons feeding off of the taxpayers. Here in CA they both can retire with full pensions at age 50(including the SoCal beach lifeguards, who sit on their a$$es, watching female a$$es go by for all of their miserable lives).
I get really tired of all this bowing and scraping for the LEOs! There was a time when they commanded our respect through their actions, now, not nearly enough of them give a $hit about the citizens they serve, and the bigger the agency, the worse the personnel are.

“One who wants to keep his job in a lib infested district but that didn’t pan out for Deputy Scott Peterson, did it? “

Being “Old Yellow Stain Scott” for the rest of his life is not near punishment enough for his dereliction of duty!

Technically Sheriff's only report to the voters. Gov. Scott can remove a Sheriff.

The US Supreme Court absolved LE of the obligation to “protect and serve” years ago - 2005-ish IIRC.

That seems to be the best “argument” to defend the indefensible.

I disagree with your premise, and all you have to back up your assertions are your opinion and generalizations. Thousands of cops do their jobs every day and never shoot a dog or whatever. Yes, it is just your opinion vs mine.

>>Thousands of cops do their jobs every day and never shoot a dog or whatever.

By that logic, thousands of Progressives don’t do a thing to take away my rights everyday either. I worry about the ones who do.

Thousands of Muslims aren’t Jihadists. I worry about the ones who are.

Same for armed and armored, often-angry, often-scared badge-wearing civil service workers.

That is a really poor argument. Progressive ideals and Islam’s goals are evil from the get-go. That has nothing to do with the goals of law enforcement or how the majority do their jobs.

You are wrong. I am speaking about the MINORITY of cops, but due to their power over the citizenry, they are a problem that far outweighs their numbers. In fact, the law agrees since under color of authority is an aggravating circumstance in a crime.

The lack of willingness for the Thin Blue Line to expose these thugs and cowards if proof that the majority supports that minority—as you are doing right now. Are you a cop?
