Turkey Mulls Talks to Avoid War As Russia and U.S. Allies Chant 'One Syria'

Turkey has raised the possibility of opening a new dialogue with Syria as its supporters threatened to join Kurds in resisting a Turkish invasion in the northwestern district of Afrin.

Ankara initially denied Tuesday that a massive convoy of fighters supportive of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad— an ally of both Russia and Iran—entered the Kurd-held enclave and later claimed that Turkish airstrikes turned the incoming forces back. Videos surfaced of pro-Syrian government and Kurdish fighters chanting "one Syria," in celebration of an alliance that Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said Wednesday would have "serious consequences" for Assad partisans.

Kalin also said in a televised address, however, that Turkish intelligence officials "may establish direct or indirect contact when it is required to solve certain problems under extraordinary conditions," Bloomberg News reported. His remarks hinted at the potential for renewed contact between the neighbors, who have been on poor terms since Turkey helped sponsor a 2011 uprising against Assad.

Get the US out of this mess now! Let Muslims have their wars in their crappy countries, and let Russia get itself embroiled in yet another Afghanistan-type mess. There is no “win” here for the US. No more US guys dying for Muslims of any stripe.

Syrian popular forces (like the ones we bombed in eastern Syria) are now being welcomed by Kurds in Afrin who are under assault from Turkey.

Trump said “Stay out of Syria”. He was right.

“Get the US out of this mess now!”

Yes, and while we’re at it, kick Turkey out of NATO and cut off the flow of spare parts for their US-made military aircraft. Erdogan needs to have his pee pee whacked really hard.

For that matter, NATO should be disbanded. Europe is weaker partly because the US has been shoring up their defense. It’s time for them to decide if they are really want to continue as western nations or if they are going to surrender to Islam. That is the real threat to Europe, not the Russians.

“Europe is weaker partly because the US has been shoring up their defense.”

Yes! We’ve allowed Western Europe to concentrate on their Socialist “vision,” letting us protect them with our men and dollars, while they let the money they were obligated to contribute to NATO go into their own pockets. WWII, is long over. It’s way past time for us to cut the financial umbilical cord with these ingrates who take our money and then go to the UN and cluck about how much better and more sophisticated they are than America. And perhaps Britain is the worst of them all. They can’t even put together a basic Navy any more.

Russia deployed some of her 5th generation SU-57’s to Khmemeim.

Meanwhile Russian forces have deployed to Afrin Crossing as SAA forces arrive.
