"Women do lie about violence and assault against children."

I agree. In my proposal (in other words, not the one that will happen!!) being told you can't carry concealed in school would not carry any consequences beyond that. You could re-apply every year before the start of the next school year.

When it comes to this, there has to be extra precautions and if someone who is wrongly accused of things does not get the ability to carry concealed in school, it's a shame but it's the way it has to be to ensure the best protection for our kids. Err on the side of caution....

Sure raise the age to buy most guns to 21...If Trump or DOJ or congress or someone issued the guidance that the term “trigger pull” in NFA means conscious and purposeful voluntary movement of your finger in order to move the trigger then BATFE could say a bump stock or similar device is NFA.

The feds have no constitutional say-so in regulating ownership and carrying of fire arms. Only the states and the people of the states have the constitutional right regulate bearing arms as confirmed by Amendments IX & X.

State law is fine here as confirmed by Amendments IX & X. The constitutional prohibition from infringing on the right to bear arms is strictly against the feds.

Not a federal issue. This has always been an option for the states.

Exactly.

Whatever, it is still a states’ issue. The feds have no constitutional say-so.

don't let a potential shooter know any intel...

All we can do is try. The kids are going to eventually figure out which teachers are armed, and which aren't. Soon enough, it's not a secret.

Be that as it may, I'm still very much in favor of allowing public school teachers to carry on campus.

It wouldn't even matter if potential shooters knew which teachers were armed. The crazies would know that someone would return fire if they tried anything.

It’s very important to understand that the first ten amendments are pointed directly at the feds and nowhere else.

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
- Article [X] (Amendment 10 – Reserved Powers)

Since the power to bear arms is not expressly delegated to the feds by the Constitution, that power is reserved and belongs to the states.

THE FEDS are not allowed to infringe on that power which power is reserved to the states and people of the states to do with as they please. The Constitution delegates to and limits ONLY the feds unless expressly stated otherwise.

Trump has more learning to do. He will. He’s smart and I believe he’ll get it sooner than later.

Either way, it’s a states’ issue, not a federal issue. Constitutionally, Trump has no say. Only the “bully pulpit” which should not deter states and the people of the states to exercise their constitutional and sovereign right to do as they please here.

And how do we determine who is responsible? Sorry, but in today’s society (which has effectively broken down in many areas) we would have to have training and mental examinations.

>
I’d damn sure hope that question is posed and answered BEFORE they’re allowed in front of any ‘students’...no?

Responsible? Those NOT in jail\funny farm? Got a gun, I’d presume they may have passed some sort of ‘background check’. You want their blood type, sperm count, DNA sample too??

So, what OTHER Rights of yours are YOU willing to give up ‘cause of ‘society’??

>
Just in the news today, one of the school principles in our area has come out with an announcement that he is questioning and is a transgender. His new name is Shannon and to please refer to him as a him or her. Do you want that school administrator carrying if he can’t even figure out whether he’s a dude or not?
>

Do I? Doesn’t matter what *I* want. Rights are Rights. Unless they’re behind bars or the looney bin, they’re a Free Citizen w/ all the Rights\privileges thereof.

Do I *like* it? HELL no. So those elected should be pressured to FIX that issue.

>
Even besides that, people in the teaching community go through life crisis just like anyone else. They go through clinical depression and terrible divorces where they are not always in a right place mentally to be entrusted with a weapon. It’s one thing if you are out in society and this happens, it’s another thing to be going through this and have a classroom of kids under your control.
>

Anything specific, or just straw men?

>
In a perfect world, you’re right, but we don’t live in a perfect world and so there has to be checks on this in regards to school.
>

It’s *NEVER* been a ‘perfect world’ since the Garden of Eden, not even when the Constitution was passed; your point is moot. Rights are still Rights; change the Law.

>
Not sure if you know the story of Charles Whitman the texas university shooter who killed 17 in 1966. He was a model citizen who went beserk. However, there were multiple signs and he went to a shrink and was on medication at one point. They did an autopsy on him and found they had a tumor pushing on his brain and it probably affected his judgement and thinking. Stuff happens and you have to have safeguards
>

And, how do you ‘safeguard’ vs. these specific type(s) of brain tumors? Force everyone under the X-ray machine so the govt can ensure it’s not pressing up on the ‘berserk node’ of the brain?

Prob. more kids die on the way to/from school every day across the U.S., should we be put a governor on each? Maybe track speed, brake responses, even a camera to make sure they’re not ‘driving angry’

...If it saves just ONE more life, eh?

Ignored regularly on a “don’t give a damn” basis.

Been past multiple schools, multiple times with guns stowed in various vehicles. Snowflakes go ape$#it over such. Sane people just shrug and ask, “Yeah, so ...?”

will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks!

There are three spectacularly bad ideas.

Donald: If you want to be re-elected:

1) Do not ban private sales of guns, or attempt to create a national registry of guns.

2) Do not further infringe the fundamental human rights of people who are old enough to vote and to serve in the military.

3) Do not fall for the leftist tactic of banning guns and gun parts with the false promise that it will stop criminials.

Laz, you don’t need a bump stock to bump fire. Takes a bit of practice but once you get it down your ammo costs skyrocket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RdAhTxyP64

A teacher who is carrying would command respect that would transfer to other teachers as well.

Why?

1) I don’t want crazy people having guns. Do you?
2) You don’t need a bump stock to bump fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RdAhTxyP64
3) If you are a stable sane kid nothing proposed says your parents can’t buy you one.

1) I don't wan any government to think it has the power to register what guns people have. Governments are far more deadly than crazy people.

2) Who cares? Gun parts and gun accessories don't cause bad people to do bad things. Banning gun parts and gun accessories because bad people do bad things is stupid beyond belief. I don't want stupid people making laws. Do you?

3) 18 years old is not a kid. 18 years old is old enough to vote and to serve in the military. 18 years old is old enough to go off to some shithole foreign country and execute American foreign policy, at the risk of one's own life. 18 years old is old enough to kill or die for your country ... 18 years old is bloody well old enough to buy your own rifle. Quit treating young men and women like babies. It's disgusting ... leave that garbage for the leftists.
