And how do we determine who is responsible? Sorry, but in today’s society (which has effectively broken down in many areas) we would have to have training and mental examinations.

>
I’d damn sure hope that question is posed and answered BEFORE they’re allowed in front of any ‘students’...no?

Responsible? Those NOT in jail\funny farm? Got a gun, I’d presume they may have passed some sort of ‘background check’. You want their blood type, sperm count, DNA sample too??

So, what OTHER Rights of yours are YOU willing to give up ‘cause of ‘society’??

>
Just in the news today, one of the school principles in our area has come out with an announcement that he is questioning and is a transgender. His new name is Shannon and to please refer to him as a him or her. Do you want that school administrator carrying if he can’t even figure out whether he’s a dude or not?
>

Do I? Doesn’t matter what *I* want. Rights are Rights. Unless they’re behind bars or the looney bin, they’re a Free Citizen w/ all the Rights\privileges thereof.

Do I *like* it? HELL no. So those elected should be pressured to FIX that issue.

>
Even besides that, people in the teaching community go through life crisis just like anyone else. They go through clinical depression and terrible divorces where they are not always in a right place mentally to be entrusted with a weapon. It’s one thing if you are out in society and this happens, it’s another thing to be going through this and have a classroom of kids under your control.
>

Anything specific, or just straw men?

>
In a perfect world, you’re right, but we don’t live in a perfect world and so there has to be checks on this in regards to school.
>

It’s *NEVER* been a ‘perfect world’ since the Garden of Eden, not even when the Constitution was passed; your point is moot. Rights are still Rights; change the Law.

Not sure if you know the story of Charles Whitman the texas university shooter who killed 17 in 1966. He was a model citizen who went beserk. However, there were multiple signs and he went to a shrink and was on medication at one point. They did an autopsy on him and found they had a tumor pushing on his brain and it probably affected his judgement and thinking. Stuff happens and you have to have safeguards
>

And, how do you ‘safeguard’ vs. these specific type(s) of brain tumors? Force everyone under the X-ray machine so the govt can ensure it’s not pressing up on the ‘berserk node’ of the brain?

Prob. more kids die on the way to/from school every day across the U.S., should we be put a governor on each? Maybe track speed, brake responses, even a camera to make sure they’re not ‘driving angry’

...If it saves just ONE more life, eh?

I won't go into answering all of the things you posed. First off, no one's rights are being infringed by saying to teachers you can or you cannot carry concealed firearms in school. If you would examine the case of Charles Wittman, he went to a psychiatrist because he was having strange thoughts about doing violence against people and yes even thoughts of killing people. He was put on medication. If you look at all of these shooters, there are signs, it just doesn't 'happen' one day. That is why I said the teachers who wanted to carry conceal go through yearly training (active shooter training and range time) and submit to a visit with a shrink. That would be the safeguard.
