Prominent Republican Donor: I Will Only Fund Pro-Gun Control GOP Candidates
The Truth About Guns ^ | 02/19/18 | Luis Valdes

Posted on 02/19/2018 9:58:52 AM PST by Simon Green

Al Hoffman Jr. is a Palm Beach County Real Estate Developer and prominent (i.e., deep pocketed) GOP donor. Mr. Hoffman has issued a public ultimatum on the Florida Republican Party . . .

“For how many years now have we been doing this — having these experiences of terrorism, mass killings — and how many years has it been that nothing’s been done?”

“It’s the end of the road for me.”

Mr. Hoffman, also a former ambassador to Portugal, has donated millions to GOP candidates like Jeb Bush and former President George W. Bush. He’s also opened his wallet for Rep. Brian mast, and current Florida Governor Rick Scott. He served as chairman of Marco Rubio’s 2010 Senate candidacy,

Pare! Mr. Hoffman vowed . . .

“I will not write another check unless they all support a ban on assault weapons,”

“Enough is enough!”

Mr. Hoffman has gone so far as to threaten Gov. Scott’s 2018 campaign for Democrat incumbent and known space cadet, Bill Nelson’s seat in Congress. Nelson is a known enemy to the Second Amendment and Al Hoffman Jr. is now supporting Nelson through his temper tantrum.

The real question: will Republican donors follow Mr. Hoffman’s lead? Will a slowing of candidate cash lead Republican politicians to break their pledge to their voters and push anti Second Amendment legislation and policy?

It’s not like it hasn’t happened. Florida Republican Turncoats like Sen. Anitere Flores and Sen. Rene Garcia followed the money (and their political ambitions) straight into the arms of the gun grabbers.

Donors spend the money on ads. They don’t give the money to the candidate.

There’s the problem.

Jeb Bush supporter, what do you expect?

And, from the same piece...

He served as chairman of Marco Rubio’s 2010 Senate candidacy

Possibly a Dem who poses as a GOPer in order to fund open borders Dems, who also pose as GOPers?

He was donating to people who sure aren’t conservatives. So, it’s good he won’t help them in the future.

My guess is that Al Hoffman Jr. lives in a gated Florida community with armed security guards.

“For all the license procedures and the constant paperwork you have to do, reports, etc., it’s banned in all but name...............”

The gun grabbers can misstate the law all they want without consequence.

We can’t. We will get hammered for it. We have to be careful because of the double standard.

It would be good to have that guy demonstrate buying an assault weapon to show the world how easy it is to get one.

RINO does not equal Republican.

Time to encumber his projects with ‘progressive’ regulations.

Another neocon heard from. Translation: he’s really a Democrat who wants influence in the Republican Party.

This old goon may be wealthy but he despises the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I bet he lives in a big compound protected by armed security. What a fool. He attempts to corrode the society he professes to love.

No, the real question is will the Republican Party Voters benefit from these a$$holes no longer providing funding. When the rich donors come out of the closet and openly ask for it to be their way or the highway, how many Senators will quit and go home?

You would be correct. $24M (per Zillow) ocean front home in gated/guarded Seminole Landing in North Palm Beach. Don’t begrudge him the fruits of his labor, but he is hardly the common man who would be impacted by any of his gun control ideas.
