Al Hoffman Jr. is a Palm Beach County Real Estate Developer and prominent (i.e., deep pocketed) GOP donor. Mr. Hoffman has issued a public ultimatum on the Florida Republican Party . . .
“For how many years now have we been doing this — having these experiences of terrorism, mass killings — and how many years has it been that nothing’s been done?”
“It’s the end of the road for me.”
Mr. Hoffman, also a former ambassador to Portugal, has donated millions to GOP candidates like Jeb Bush and former President George W. Bush. He’s also opened his wallet for Rep. Brian mast, and current Florida Governor Rick Scott. He served as chairman of Marco Rubio’s 2010 Senate candidacy,
Pare! Mr. Hoffman vowed . . .
“I will not write another check unless they all support a ban on assault weapons,”
“Enough is enough!”
Mr. Hoffman has gone so far as to threaten Gov. Scott’s 2018 campaign for Democrat incumbent and known space cadet, Bill Nelson’s seat in Congress. Nelson is a known enemy to the Second Amendment and Al Hoffman Jr. is now supporting Nelson through his temper tantrum.
The real question: will Republican donors follow Mr. Hoffman’s lead? Will a slowing of candidate cash lead Republican politicians to break their pledge to their voters and push anti Second Amendment legislation and policy?
It’s not like it hasn’t happened. Florida Republican Turncoats like Sen. Anitere Flores and Sen. Rene Garcia followed the money (and their political ambitions) straight into the arms of the gun grabbers.
Goodbye and good riddance.

This is America, you are pretty much free to do anything legal you want to with your money. You are supporting folks who want to do things that might change that. I’m confused.

This doesn’t surprise me. I bet that there are many others in the country club donor class who’ve given to the Repubs but certainly do not have a problem with legislators putting the short end of the wedge in against law abiding firearms owners.
And as an average conservative voter, I’ll only vote for GOP candidates that fully support 2A, even if there are times when it may not be politically convenient to do so.

Assault weapons are hard to get, but not banned.
I only contribute to Democrats (sic) that are pro 2A, pro Constitution and pro-life.
