In an impassioned speech during a gun control rally in Fort Lauderdale Saturday, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Emma Gonzalez called for stricter gun laws in a delivery that’s now going viral.
Gonzalez, along with other speakers at the protest, directed several of her comments to President Donald Trump.
“If the president wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a terrible tragedy, and how it should never have happened, and maintain telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I’m going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association,” she said as hundreds of rally-goers cheered in support.

Regardless of events - in this case the violent deaths of her classmates - it’s another snowflake who believes it’s all about her.
Does she know anything about the NRA apart from what she’s been told or fed? Why aren’t people eg celebrities who climb into the political arena ever asked questions to determine their knowledge and grasp of details?
This girl has been in the news cycle frequently. Could it be possible she’s being groomed by the Left as the “leader” in this new attack on guns?
This is not the time for finger pointing from the stage.
Lets get these poor victims buried first.
Don’t be so eager to make hay at the expense of a family’s grieving. A lot is going to be spoken of for the first few weeks. Not all of it worthy of broadcasting on stage.
Did any of those protesters demand answers about why the Sheriff’s office, School district, or FBI did not take any steps to prevent this shooting ?

“We’re only a local, school based organization, but I think it’s important to promote awareness at all levels to make a better future for everyone,” Gonzalez said. “What’s happened in Egypt sucks and I want everyone to know that we stand with our brothers and sisters who are being oppressed there.”
One of their latest projects, a mural on the upstairs wall of the 400 building, symbolizes the efforts of people from all sexualities to work hand-in-hand to create a more loving and accepting future. Discrimination based on sexual orientation, like the actions taken by the Egyptian government, opposes everything the GSA stands for, and appalling does not scratch the surface for some of the MSD student body.
I realize she’s just a HS kid, and she’s been traumatized recently. So it’s OK that she does not know that the NRA is a corporation, and corporations have been prohibited from donating to political candidates since 1974. By Federal law.
Miss Gonzalez is the CEO of the Gay Straight Alliance in her high school.

Each and every gun law on the books, from 1968 till now, was guaranteed to stop crime and killings. the newer laws were promised to do the same. All failed. What makes anyone think new laws will do better?
EVERY institution failed and ultimately are culpable in the deaths of 17 but these idiots are too stupid to think.
To blame the NRA and President Trump are just ludicrous lefty talking points.
Rush brought up a valid observation. New gun laws restricting sales etc. won't stop the next potential killer. Because the next killer already has his gun or access to one. Restricting our ability to protect ourselves does not prevent the next killer from doing a mass shooting. Criminals already have guns, and will always be able to have guns. Us innocent potential victims need to also be able to have guns.
