He went straight into college till graduation in 1971 probably with a 1S deferment. His draft number was 199 and President Trump was 356. The last draft callup was 1972.

This statement is a close runner-up to the one I read in the letters section of the Times Book Review today, that Trump tries to look like Mussolini but can’t quite carry it off.
