I recently talked with a woman whose family fled from Mexico ten years or so ago. They fled Mexico because of the corruption and drug cartel violence, etc. She said it took eight years and as much as $25,000 to do it, but they’re here legally. But they vote democrat and they hate Trump because “he might send them back.” She also complained about gun violence and said guns should be illegal. “We only have these mass murders here in America because guns are legal here and are illegal in most other countries.”

And that’s the mindset we’re up against. Why is Mexico so corrupt and why are the drug cartels taking over and why are its citizens cowering in fear of their own government and the criminal gangs? Well, for one thing, gun control is very strict in Mexico. It’s legal to own a gun, but very difficult to purchase one. So, basically it’s a gun-free killing zone for the cartels. And the cops who aren’t bought off are too afraid of the cartels to defend the defenseless citizens.

Perhaps we should change the designation from AR-15 to ST-15 (“ST” for Stoner, the inventor).

Any weapon would qualify. Right?

Yep, someone can kill you with a rusty spoon if they really want to. These dems will be stepping all over each other to come up with a legal definition of an 'assault weapon' and it will end up a thousand words long and make no sense whatsoever.

From Wiki:

Hoffman was raised on the south side of Chicago, the youngest of seven children. His father, a Jewish Austrian, emigrated to the United States in 1906 and opened a poultry store, while his mother was a Scottish-American immigrant who grew up in Kentucky. Hoffman graduated from Morgan Park Military Academy in 1952....

That would put his birth around 1934, so he's about 84. As Carl Childers would say: "The world will be shut of him soon enough".

>>The kid could have killed just as many with a handgun.

Probably not a good choice of talking points. The last time they pushed a ban through, they banned hi-cap pistol mags too.

Ask Bill Clinton how well an assault weapon ban benefits a political party (massive midterm losses).
Ask NY how well assault weapon bans are obeyed (4% compliance).
Ask England how well confiscation of assault weapons (of the day) ends (revolution & loss of jurisdiction).

I remember when anti-gunners said they only wanted to register handguns. Long guns would not be affected.

Now rifles are reviled by the very persons that said they originally had no problem with rifles.

How did that work out for everyone!

“What a jerk! Why do some a-hole jerk idiots have so much money?”

Well, we are free to earn as much money as we are able. I would rephrase your question thus:

“Why do some a-holes think that their money gives them veto power over policies they don’t like?”

He is an arrogant jerk, that’s for certain.

Excuse me if I just ignore the opinions of the Left as to how much they care for the lives of children in America.

That will work just as well as the alcohol ban during Prohibition. A $500 AK or AR will go for over $2000 and five bucks a round.

Yes. Both of his parents were immigrants. He has a history of regulating against his American neighbors and rising from slavery to be a harsher master. Typical.

Here’s a quick summary of his political preferences (infiltration of conservative efforts from the left).

Pfffft! A wealthy Bush-donor leaving the party. I’m sure he wasn’t going to donate to Trump’s re-election anyway. So he gets a little positive-press out of a decision that he already made months ago.

But on the good-side that means that major irritants like the Senate Majority Leader might not get any money and we can get somebody more conservative to take the gig.

He was born in 1934.

Long after he is gone the Second Amendment will still be around.
