Gun control advocates are only too sure that they occupy the moral high ground. In the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting that left 17 dead, they are accusing their opponents of having blood on their hands.
Its no longer just activists such as Chelsea Handler who are spewing such vitriol. Even mainstream liberals such as political scientist Norm Ornstein use the phrase.
Gun control advocates new hot number is that there have been 18 school shootings so far this year, but this is a gross exaggeration.
To get 18, one has to count all instances from kindergarten through college where a gun was fired on or near school property. This includes a case of a police officer accidentally discharging his gun, as well as suicides such as that of a 31-year-old military veteran with no connection to the school who killed himself in the school parking lot.
Excluding suicides, there have only been five cases where someone was actually shot at a K-12 school. Only four actually involved a gun being fired on school property, and only two of those resulted in fatalities.
In fact, gun control advocates proposals would do more harm than good. They are the ones opposing life-saving laws.
Every time there's a mass public shooting, gun control advocates call for more background checks. President Obama did so each time he spoke after a mass public shooting. Gun control advocates like to think this is a magic solution that would have prevented Wednesdays massacre.
The proposed background check laws wouldn't have prevented the attack in Florida, nor any other mass public shooting thats happened in the 21st century.
But the background checks come at a real cost, ranging from $55 in Oregon to $125 in New York City and Washington, D.C. ....

The elitist gun-grabbers have no idea of the sh*tstorm they’re stirring up. I can state with certainty that their mercenary guards will run away as fast as they can when the SHTF.
It’s real simple: No money, no protection. I saw it in Libyan civil war in 2011. It will be no different here in the US.
Gun Control advocates are one and the same with this terrorist shooting students and teachers, attacking accademia and truth.
In fact they are one and the same with Tienanmen massacre too
This kid was born with disease like FAS, crack or such. State adoption, CPS, counseling and such
should have been part of his routine life growing up. Whether parents or CPS dropped ball, cannot guess, certainly his Mom did when he last refused meds. Also should have had social worker, exams, classes, both for biys, mom and dad, from day one with disabled baby. The boy qualifies for full medical care. All this is to point out responsibilities were dropped 1000 times before a gun ever entered the picture. And due to those people, wayyy beyond and earlier than FBI, the issue was not a gun.
deadly serious. But there, politics does not trump safety.....
Same thing they did with Sandy Hook where some idiot conspiracy theorists say it was faked.
Well-stated about the kid being failed by all who should have been looking out for him and long before a gun ever entered the picture. My wife was a speech pathologist on a special education team at a suburban school system and spoke of such issues regularly. One of her colleagues had the Emotionally Disturbed class (probably called something different today) but after hearing the stories, I called it FFA - Future Felons of America.
Every time a liberal says “gun control” I give another $10 to a gun lobby org.
#NRA #GOA #NAGR #RMGO etc.
I noticed the press again photoshopped the killers face to make his skin much whiter than it really is.
They are really going all out to link this guy to the conservatives, racists, and the GOP.
OK ban those scary looking “assault” weapons. But what about those thousands in the hands of law abiding gun owners? The prospect of sending anti gun brown shirts to every home to confiscate them isn’t going to pass Constitutional muster nor prevent future school shootings. Gun confiscation like was used in Australia and England will also not be Constitutional and could likely start a rebellion. Liberals should get show their true colors and introduce legislation to amend or repeal the Second Amendment and see how far that goes.
Including the Broward sheriff. Liberal gun grabber.
The Democrat FBI allowed this shooting to happen to promote the gun control agenda!
You may be correct
Our country’s problem isn’t guns, it’s our culture.
When I started teaching, students bringing guns to school was no big deal. Teachers and students would have guns in their cars during hunting season; I had kids ask to keep their gun in my room for safe keeping until the school day ended.
AND THERE WAS NEVER A PROBLEM.
I think years of teaching that there are no moral absolutes, that right and wrong are negotiable depending on the circumstances, and that there is no Truth, that everyone has their own truth, has reached its sad, but logical, outcome.
If we teach that life has no value in the womb, why are we shocked when someone doesn’t recognize that meaningless distinction and decides to take lives outside the womb?
He actually wasnt a Cruznadian since he was adopted.
It would have been so much better if he could not get a gun, and instead filled a gallon milk jug with gasoline, fused it with a rag, lighted it and threw it into a crowded roomful of students... (is the < /sarc > tag really necessary?)
Ironic that the school is as complicit as the FBI in the shooting - they rail about gun control but refused to alert authorities when the perp was caught with ammo in the school....can’t make this crap up.
ADHD drugs are mind altering disasters, more boys than girls are on them. Looking at the line up of the last batch of shooters all but 2 are males on Phyche drugs of some sort.
Even Xanax has a Suicide Black Box warning, most common use is Panic and Anxeity. That sleep med LUNESTA causes RAGE like in ROAD RAGE type.
Yep but the liberals never mention that.
