As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fought back Wednesday against a police finding that he had accepted nearly $300,000 in bribes, his cool self-confidence betrayed not the slightest worry that he could be forced to step down anytime soon.
The coalition is stable, and no one, me or anyone else, has plans to go to elections, he declared in Tel Aviv. We will continue to work together with you for the citizens of the State of Israel, until the end of our term, in late 2019.
If Mr. Netanyahu had entered a dangerous new period in which he must battle for his political survival and to avoid imprisonment, he did so possessed of political advantages that no Israeli prime minister has before enjoyed.

They’ve pulled this cr** on him before.
it looks so far like a trumped-up charge or at least a minor one
but
i do wish to see a new government in Jerusalem...one that will rebuild Israel...WITHOUT always begging foreigners for “permission” to build needed homes or schools
Bibi is a fine, fine orator...one of the best in the world of this generation....and I do believe his heart is in the right place, but yet he acts like a Disapora-ghetto Jew, always begging foreigners for “permission” to do what any responsible government would have gotten done years ago already
this makes him look pathetic, to be blunt
and its done Israel a TON of damage
Maybe they’ve run out of new cards to play.
I’m sure Iran would not be involved in funding anti-Netanyahu groups, either. /Obama is an enemy agent
Government officials abusing their power is never a minor issue.
It also sounds like Netanyahu tried to intimidate the police doing the investigation.
well then, maybe I will live to see the kind of government I believe Jerusalem needs
It would seem that Jewish Communists are a major problem in Israel too.
.
Go Bebe!
.
.
As usual, you’re completely off base.
There was absolutely nothing to investigate.
.
As usual, you're projecting.
I don’t know much about intra-Israel politics so won’t comment on that, but considering how you time and time again defend the KINGS of this kind of corruption aka Putin, Kremlin, and co. - you have already exhausted any credibility on this issue.
any modicum of credibility* none. zero. Putin defenders have none when it comes to corruption.
Kremlin is currently threatening to outright block Russian access to Instagram and Youtube - over a video expose on a Putin-oligarch that is currently making its rounds on the web with 5 million plus views. And yet you have the nerve to come in here and address a bribery claim over some other world leader?
You’ve got to be kidding me.
The guy’s first term as prime minister began in 1996. There’s something to be said for just calling it a career and going away. I am never inclined to trust anyone whose career in government is measured in decades.
No one pays me to post here troll girl, can you say the same thing?
we agree.
he’s done some fine things but its time for someone new Imho
Didn’t you *also* defend Putin in other threads? The longest serving Russian leader since Stalin?
I'm generally not one to condemn or defend foreign leaders as a matter of course. I prefer to see these countries deal with their own domestic issues as they see fit.
