New York Police Department commissioner James O’Neill says it is “insanity” to allow national concealed carry reciprocity for law-abiding citizens.

He suggested more guns will only lead to more violence, although a 2012 Congressional Research Service study showed that a massive increase in private gun ownership–from 192 million firearms in 1994 to 310 million firearms in 2009–correlated with sharp drops in crime.

Moreover, the Crime Prevention Research Center (CRPC) has shown that concealed carry permit holders are among the most law-abiding of law-abiding citizens. To highlight how just how law-abiding concealed carriers are CPRC juxtaposed crimes by police versus crimes by concealed carry permit holders. They used Texas permit holders as their sample

Moron. I think it's insanity that we've allowed ourselves to be subjected to restrictions on rights supposedly untouchable. NO PERMITS!

Sounds like Marxist Bill Deblasio finally found a police commissioner who will agree with his politics.

Any LEO who comes out against anything 2A probably shouldn’t be in law enforcement.

He suggested more guns will only lead to more violence

Every piece of evidence suggests the opposite.

This was the opening story on “60 Minutes” on Sunday evening, as I happened by while channel surfing. Here was Steve Kroft leading in with mentioning how Mississippi is a concealed carry state and has (purportedly) one of the highest gun death rates in the country. What he likely doesn’t tell people is that if you were to factor the black on black violence rate in the urban area of Jackson, that state is probably not that bad at all concerning something like that.

I wonder if Mr. Kroft made people in Vermont and Maine know about this situation involving gun violence death rates and concealed carry and the concerns of Commissioner O’Neill, given the supposed infinite wisdom of CBS journalists.

For liberals, “The Bill of Rights” is insanity.

Freedoms of speech, religion, assembly, petitioning the elite; guns; due process; states’ rights - all outdated if they ever made sense.

If liberals decided to have soldiers live in our houses, I’m sure they’d call us insane for not allowing it - it just hasn’t been an issue so they haven’t given us their opinion.

Well, Warren Wilhelm, a/k/a "Bill DeBlasio" is everything you say, but the absurd NYC gun laws have been in place, and essentially unchanged, since 1911.

Just pass the bill already.

Any bill that passes will likely be struck down on 10th Amendment grounds.

Police Chiefs & Commissioners are political appointees.

Since most major city Mayors are Dems, the top LEOs are hacks who were neutered prior to elevation.

Their pronouncements on “effective law enforcement” only reflect policies that have failed for decades.

They are happy to have the Mob and gangbangers run the streets at the risk of the lives of law enforcement and law abiding citizens.
