Of course, I haven't already read all the long documents linked in the CT site. From what's been said for weeks now, apparently the October 21, 2016 FISA warrant application was approved, but this makes it sound as if there was serious criticism from the judge.

But am I correct in assuming that this criticism was related to an October warrant application that was approved?

IMO - they need to not only save the documentation, but recordings of the sessions should also be made and retained so what was said can be looked at.
