Full implementation of legal cannabis could be delayed beyond July 1 (Canada Day?)

Liberal government's July 1 deadline for legal cannabis fast approaching

The full implementation of legal cannabis could occur later than July 1, government officials told CBC News Tuesday.

While the Liberal government is still hoping its legislation will pass Parliament before July — even though it faces entrenched opposition from some Conservative senators — it recognizes it may take some provinces 8 to 12 weeks of further work after the law passes before consumers can purchase legal, recreational marijuana from storefronts.

Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor, during an appearance before a committee of the whole inside the Senate Tuesday, said she has heard from lower levels of government that more time might be required.

Leave it to someone as stunned and stoned as Trudeau to roll out the legalization of pot on July 1st, currently and formerly known as 'Canada Day', and soon to be referred to and known as 'Cannabis Day' thanks to our dear leader and pathetic pissant Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The little puke should apologize to the country and to veterans for even contemplating such stupidity.

The CBC and Mr. Tasker conveniently ignore and fail to mention in this article one iota of the massive criticism hurled toward Trudeau and the Liberals for making Canada Day the date for full legalization of nationwide pot smoking. No surprise though... The CBC is essentially a Liberal Party propaganda organ of government bought and paid for by taxpayers, whether they're Liberal or not.

If you are familiar with the CBC news website and articles from it, they will cherry pick which articles readers can and can't comment on... Guess which one this article fits under? They know it would be 90% negative, so no commenting allowed.

Does the government of Canada need more time to factor in the unintended consequences--like increased numbers of DUI accidents, increased number of children accidental OD's, increased numbers of pets killed or having to be treated for accidental ODs, lower IQs, permanent short-term memory loss, and other negative effects?

Or could it be that the politicians are already doped out and cannot make an intelligent decision?

The same govt that profits from the sales of the toxic, poisonous, and deadly consumables tobacco and ethanol???

No! They are simply trying to pass laws to permanently embed their thumbs in the pie!

Thanks for the ping.

Methinks the leaders of Canada have been lying to their people with the endless delays in legalizing cannabis after making it a big promise in their election cycle.

Not surprising though as their progressive/socialist leaders are stupid enough to break a crowbar.

The delay is suspicious. It’s as if Trudeau knows it is popular with the voters but the statist in him doesn’t want to do it because he is afraid of losing control.

The could do it like liquor in NC and Va and only allow people to buy it in government stores, thereby ensuring a monopoly.
