Dems pick up deep-red legislative seat in Missouri
The Hill ^ | February 6, 2018 | Reid Wilson

Democrats won an exurban St. Louis seat in the Missouri state House of Representatives on Tuesday, racking up another victory in a district carried easily by President Trump in the 2016 election.

Voters in Jefferson County appeared to choose Mike Revis, a 27-year old Democrat, to fill a seat left vacant when the incumbent quit to run for county executive. With all ten precincts within the district reporting, Revis led Republican David Linton by 108 votes, or about three percentage points.

If Revis's lead holds, it would mark a significant swing from 2016, when President Trump won the district by a 61 percent to 33 percent margin.

I simply cannot understand how any sane, law-abiding person anywhere could EVER vote for any demondog.

Dr. Jordan Peterson is right, socialist don’t love the poor, they just hate the rich.

Disgusting....although we should be used to it by now since we are losing a seat every single special election. Frustrating and nothing is being done. In fact, most just give dumb excuses.

Looks like the Democrat margin of cheating was just enough this time.

lol. If only that was the reason. If that were the reason something could be done. But the truth is that Democrats are actually showing up to vote.

The RAT won by 108 votes...3% of the vote. Just a WAG, but I bet the turnout for this special election was something under 20%. The fact that Trump won this same area 2-1 indeed really does show we’re badly behind the enthusiasm gap regardless of turnout though.

Yep. Even elections we are winning, the percentage is down for Republicans and up for Democrats. Very scary. And nothing seems to be changing. I wish Trump would get Reince Prebis back into that position. He was awesome in it.

Jefferson County has always been traditionally Democrat. This loss is no big deal. It could easily switch the next election.

Can you pick an election that is any more meaningless? Or are you just trying to tease out the pearl clutchers.

Totally agree with you.
I’d feel much more confident in Reince Priebus at the helm instead of Mittens’ niece Ronna Romney McDaniel.

Hard to understand the rabid hatred of President Trump driving the RATS to the polls coupled with the negligent complacency of the MAGA masses.

I pray that our conservative forces will wake up and be re-energized by November.

Not good. I know dems pour everything they have into these things, but our organization and motivation is far from where it needs to be come November.

I’m wondering....with SO much $$$ in the RNC coffers....where the ads are touting Pres Trump’s great achievements, thus far.

Where are the ground games/ads for these Special Elections, and other upcoming statewide elections?

The Dems are driven by hate for Trump now, while us normals simply sit it out. Turnout is the problem.

Our side must keep in mind everything that is at stake with each and every election.

Our Sovereignty.
Rebuilt Military.
The Judiciary, especially the SCOTUS.
Sanctity of Life, particularly the unborn.

President Trump needs all the support he can possibly get.
Staying home is not an acceptable option.

How do you go from a 2 to 1 advantage to losing?

I’d like to see data on all the real estate transactions that took place in that district in the last 2 years and the voter registration. If they don’t show a significant amount of the 61% that voted for Trump, leaving and being replaced by urban, hipster, liberals, then something ain’t right.

But, if they start taking more and more seats in the State houses, it’s a biggy.

The Democrats and their lackeys are energized by their hateful anti-Trump propaganda of their media and Party organs.

That bodes ill for us for 2018. We have become complacent. If don't get out our vote we are doomed because the Dems are going to get out theirs with their hysterics and hate mongering.
