“So the report did begin with the most important and basic information first.”
No, it did not.
We are dealing with a written news article posted on FR. That means we need the 5 Ws: who, what, when, where and why.
That’s not hard to understand.
If the original post started with - this is a crap report that will confuse everyone because it’s written by a low IQ millinneal moron, so deal with it - I’d have no problem with it.
What’s the big deal? Why not watch the video? I watched it because the article left questions, so I watched it. Btw, the video is from law enforcement at the scene of this incident.
lol
I have no problem with force being used to stop the vehicle. The maneuver of ramming to do just that was what the officers appeared prepared to do. This is usually done when a vehicle is traveling at lower speeds and is not considered suitable for high speed chases.
Dial had meth in his system which certainly would explain his refusal to obey a lawful order. Another news report does state he ran into several vehicles. Now if at that time any of those officers shot his vehicle as it approached I would agree they did the right thing to save themselves.
But that is not what Shoupe ordered. He called for the use of deadly force to avoid damaging police cars. That is not good.
“Presented as a video. Second sentence.”
You blew your argument up, TexasGator. “Second sentence,” says you. That’s writing, not a video. If it were simply a video, the article (written) should have simply given a link to the VIDEO. No words. No sentences. Just a link. Period.
Here’s hoping you get in the way of a crazed meth-head on a rampage some day.

Like I said, it was probably the text of the news report that aired on TV.
And it did give the most important information first, for local TV station viewers in that area. The new information about the sheriff being caught on tape was the most important information to lead with. With an ongoing story that has new developments since the original incident, you start with the latest information, not from the beginning. Like if the news is covering someone’s trial for a crime. They don’t in every report start with going over the crime again, but begin with what happened that day in the trial.
So, the point of the new development was this, the first line:
“Body camera video from the aftermath of a deadly officer-involved shooting has raised new questions about what happened.”
Not that journalism standards are going out the window all over the place, though, because they are.
Heres hoping you get in the way of a crazed meth-head on a rampage some day.
Classy, real classy.
Now go hump someone elses leg, Scooter.

***Well, from watching the video, he was just driving aggressively, and recklessly, to begin with, and thats especially so with that trailer the way he had it. I saw not long ago a news report about things people have on trailers or tied to their cars not being secured properly and coming off and killing or injuring people. From the looks of how he had that trailer, he wasnt as concerned about that possibility as he should have been, and that says something about his state of mind at least at that time. Maybe thats why he even first came to the attention of police. But if something came off and killed or injured someone, he apparently wasnt concerned. For whatever reason, he was being highly irresponsible in my opinion.***
You’re right, time to just shoot him for his own good.
Bite me, Mr. Irony.
Bite me, Mr. Irony.
Sorry, youd like it too much.
Adios, Skippy.

You can live in ignorance you, or you can watch the video of your hero ordering an unarmed citizen murdered by your fellow jackbooted thugs.
Classy! like all your posts, Pee Wee.
That was an exceptionally nasty comment. You’re an asshole.
I choose my friends carefully. None of them would run from the police, thus they won’t be on the receiving end.
Hoping for a stranger’s death is really messed up.
“Whats the big deal? Why not watch the video?”
I’m bitching about a posted article on FR that didn’t give us the basic who, what, why, when and where expected from a basic news story. I also stated that I didn’t want to waste my time clicking on some stupid link to try to decipher what the stupid article is attempting to convey. I added that this stupid-ass article was probably written by a 50 IQ millennial moron.
That’s where the situation stands.
Your turn.
I said the sheriff did wrong and should face heavy consequences. But strangely enough personal responsibility often seems to be dismissed here. I saw earlier today an old story about a black family that thought a Pizza Hut employee that shot to death their adult son, who was robbing the place, should be prosecuted. They said things such as that their son belonged in jail, not dead for robbing a place. This reminds me of that. Now, you shouldn’t end up dead if go out without a driver’s license and tow a trailer recklessly, then don’t stop while pursued by police, and not only do they ram you, but you also seem to try to ram them at times. Plus, the video cuts out when he’s run off the road, but I did hear police shouting something. So what happened right then might not be what the media is reporting. But in any case, the sheriff did something terrible, but nobody can tell me that the guy driving was innocent. He bears some of the blame, without a doubt.
That was an exceptionally nasty comment.
Thanks. I put some thought into it.
Youre an asshole.
Ive worked hard to master it so I rarely use it except when someone merits it. Consider yourself the recipient of a rare gift. Ordinary everyday garden variety jerkwads rarely merit my attention. But you rose to the occasion. Congratulations.
Hoping for a strangers death is really messed up.
It is indeed. Now scroll on back up and reread the comment of yours I responded to. Then go take a good hard look in the mirror.

I especially like this sentence construction...”Sheriff Oddie Shoupe did not realize he was being recorded after the shooting by a body camera...”
I didn’t know body cameras were loaded. What caliber body camera I should being used these days?
Cops are civilians.
